The individual episode that I would most like to see returned is Marco Polo episode 7 as it is the only episode I have never seen. I would then like to see the last episode of The Massacre with the excellent first Doctor speech Then it would be the final episode of Masterplan with the tragic ending Then it would be the episode of Masterplan 'The Traitors.' with the death of Katarina and Bret Vyon. Then the fifth episode that I would most like to see is the last episode of Myth Makers with Vicki leaving and Katarina joining the TARDIS team.

Re 284 Object Z returns. I know this has been discussed before but Object Z was a seriously good kids sci-fi programme with a plot that was always intriguing and occasionally scary (to 10 year olds). I had also forgotten until watching the recent attempt at updating Are You Being Served that Trevor "Mr Lucas" Bannister was a lead actor in the series. Re 303 Singing and Searching. Martin Carthy is still turning out some great music and the legendary Dave Swarbrick only passed away a few months ago. Hi Paul, I did'nt realise that Trevor Bannister was in Object Z thanks for letting me know. The Object Z series from 1965 exists complete in the archive But all 6 episodes of the Object Z Returns series from 1966 are missing!!? (strange) Here is the TV Times schedule for Object Z Returns on the 22/02/66... Meanwhile here is a wee article from the TV Times mentioning the Object Z Returns series of 1966 returning... Many thanks for that. I did not see the original Object Z but I remember watching Object Z Returns back in 1966.

Yes they are. Interestingly the title sequence for these episodes is the earlier 'running man' one unlike the one on the Acorn release.

Hi Nigel, I am interested in any classic TV. I would also like to see Renown Pictures release the second season of Burke's Law and Amos Burke - Secret Agent. After all they did release the first season.

While it would be good to get Boyd QC on DVD - for me it would be even better to get Badger's Bend which was my favourite TV programme before Doctor Who came along!

I would have to say that my favourite type of programme is drama from the 1960s. But what I find surprising is that although there are many surviving Doctor Who episodes from this era (although not enough) some of the other BBC dramas from that time are no longer in the archives. Programmes like King of the River, Champion House and Mickey Dunne seem to have no surviving episodes. I wonder if any of them were sold abroad. I am delighted that my all time second favourite TV show - Adam Adamant Lives! has so many surviving episodes. But how did that happen? Vendetta - another favourite only has a few. And then into the 1970s what happened to all the episodes of Codename? I wonder if anyone can suggest why some of these drama series survived and so many didn't? Many thanks.

Sorry to hear about his death. He contributed a great deal to our TV heritage. The programme of his I particular remember was Rubovia and I would like to see the surviving episodes released on DVD.

Good to see this although it only lists 4 episodes while 6 are supposed to survive.

Hi John your account is amazing. Your thoughts are very similar to mine. I too was 12/13 in 1966. I was 13 by the time Patrick had taken over. I too had watched from the first episode. I too had the same thoughts when I saw the first episode of Power. Everything you describe I felt too. I too had enjoyed Patrick in Paul of Tarsus, The Old Curiosity Shop and Dr. Finlay's Casebook. While to me Hartnell will always be my favourite Doctor, Troughton is my second favourite. I would really like to seen the missing episodes again. Where we differ is that I never made notes. I did collect the Radio Times articles/castlists and was delighted when 3 novels from the series were published. I did also get TV Comic when Patrick became the Doctor. Something that I had not bought previously but then as I was older then I had more money to spend!

I remember Eamonn interviewed William Hartnell once but sadly it was too late for me to be allowed to watch it. I suppose it does not exist sadly.

I wonder if Festival of Death is at the BFI Network might release that episode and the one in the archives. After all Knight Errant only had 2 surviving episodes and that made it onto DVD so why not Judge Dee?
