There is a comedy written by Shaw that he produced which would be the right period but I don't think it's the one: 'Getting Married' 07/03/1957 Author: Bernard Shaw Producer: Alan Bromly Designer: John Cooper Mrs Bridgenorth: Iris Baker Collins: James Hayter General Bridgenorth: Patrick Waddington Lesbia Grantham: Georgina Cookson Reginald: Hugh Sinclair Leo: Miranda Connell The Bishop: Anthony Nicholls St John Hotchkiss: Donald Price Cecil Sykes: Donald Churchill Edith: Silvia Herklots Soames: Douglas Wilmer The Beadle: Freddie Watts Mrs George: Margaret Rawlings Synopsis isn't on Genome as there was an RT article and it doesn't feature... Can anyone identify anyone in the pics? P

If only! "Lesbia Grantham: Georgina Cookson".
It was just a wild guess because I seem to remember that in one of his plays there's mention of a barrow-and I don't mean Pygmalion!
I'll keep trying.

Surely that's Andrew Cruickshank on the first page.

Surely that's Andrew Cruickshank on the first page. Yeah,I think so,but he doesn't seem to have much of a role!

That does appear to be the one - the full cast list from the Kaleidoscope guide includes characters - Alec Gordon, Joe Briggs and "Barmaid of the green dragon" - all of which tie into the sign on the second page of telesnaps

The snaps will now be sent to the Written Archives Centre to join the rest of the Bromly collection! Thanks all. P

Hello
I am writing a Biography of the late Jill Bennett. I have not seen these telesnaps but I do know that Alan Bromly directed 'Do It Yourself' a BBC play featuring Jill which was filmed on location at Stonehenge. The play was transmitted on the 26 May 1957.
I own a few telesnaps from Jill's personal collection, they are thumbnail size but I can work out they are from 'Glimpse of The Sea' 1960 and 'Storm in a Teacup' (1962).
I hope this helps
Regards
Alan

Storm in a Teacup was a Sunday-Night Play which also starred Iain Cuthbertson, and had been filmed in 1937 (there's a DVD knocking round) with Rex Harrison and Vivian Leigh.A nice story.
