Could we get a single brief statement from someone who would know about the current state of searches? Nothing exhaustive. Just something to serve as a centering point.

When you hit your 12th regeneration, that is the end. Even for a Time Lord.

When you hit your 12th regeneration, that is the end. Even for a Time Lord. Thank God!I can no longer stand the excitement.I'm glad that this juggernaut called the 'missing episodes official BBC announcement' has finally come to a halt.Looking forward to seeing full colour,brightly-lit,mid-80s Peter Davison Dr.Who episodes as a complete contrast!

To some extent this came out of left field - but nobody's complaining !
It's been very extensively covered in the media, considerably more so than Airlock and UM2, so it can only benefit the quest, "The quest is the quest" :-)
After the previous recoveries there was a view (not necessarily a consensus) that the most likely source for future recoveries was private collectors and that there might be another half dozen out there.
My view was that it might be possible to reduce the number of missing episodes to under 100, I now believe that it might be possible to reduce it to under 90.
However, the paper chasers who work out the bicycle chains look like they've got some more pieces of the jigsaw which can only help.

There is a lot going on. Phil is still searching and we are also chasing down three other leads abroad which look very interesting.
Nothing may come of any of them, but people are putting in their spare time to make it happen.
Genuinely, it is far from being all over.

Paul Sounds terrific and here's hoping the more hard-core fans will give you space to do your job without any unecessary prodding or interference. Incidentally, it's a great idea to give them something to keep them occupied whilst you all slip out to find some more, so best of luck with whatever leads you are following right now and fingers crossed of course!

As long as there are missing episodes, there are those for which the hunt will never be over.

Paul Paul I have lurked on this site for years and only recently joined officially. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you for the incredible work you have put into both the recovery and restoration of classic doctor who over the years. Your herculean efforts I am sure are appreciated by everyone. I wish you all the luck in the world in your on going search for more lost treasures.

Perhaps other RKTV prints are lying around.
