Dunno if we did this to death in the "Alternative Ways to Reconstruct A Missing Episode" thread, but what happened for those of you who missed it was that Greg made the comment to the effect that much of UK produced programming was pretty poor these days, and then a few of us chipped in with US, Australian and various Scandinavian programs well worth a look. Absolutely nothing to do with missing episodes as such, but damn useful. Thanks to Greg, I'm going to have a look at Nightshift and thanks to Marty I've found that the later series of Underbelly are now available in part in the UK on Amazon. We have covered that a lot of the high end US dramas are worth seeing, typically HBO and some Fox offerings, in particular shows such as Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Low Winter Sun, Southland, etc to name a few as well as Australian and foreign language dramas such as Lillyhammer and Nightshift. The only recent British drama series I felt could be recommended was the Fall, the N.Ireland serial killer drama. As this is an international forum, it would be extremely useful to hear what viewing people would recommend! It can't be a bad thing to find more good stuff to watch in a sea of available mediocrity. After all these could be tomorrow's missing episodes, (moderators please note flimsy link to forum subject to hopefully prevent thread from being locked!).

In terms of oz comedy try the work of Chris Lilley. Best watched in order. We can be Heroes. Summer Heights High. Bad boys. Character driven sitcoms with Lilley playing the major roles (both male and female). Some language, drug use and occasionally offensive - it is poignant yet funny. Great observational humour grounded in Aussie lexicon and culture.

Enjoying Louie on Fox. For those who haven't seen Louis C.K's show, it tends to start and finish with a bit of stand up, with a comedy section in the middle based on his experiences in life, very funny, must be broad minded to enjoy.

Oh, I forgot to mention 'Vikings'. A good historical drama, may appeal to some. Probably worth checking the first episode at least

I absolutely loved "Outland" from Australia. One of the best comedies that's been made in recent years.

I'm really enjoying The Wrong Mans, which surprises me enormously, as it has James Corden in it.
