Oh great....love a good rumour.Do we know which African Country this man is situated in? I am sure Mr Vanesis would have intimated some kind of recovery was in progress by now. Is this the tail end of the film hub rumour in Africa from a month or so ago? Why Evil in particular? Actually I have thought for sometime,at least 18 months,as to why TUM2 has not been released ,and still no news of it being animated.Could it be that there was a possibility of the the other TUM eps being found? Just speculating....

The article says "expect to see Evil Of The Daleks" but this was never screened in Africa according to BroaDWcast.

Paul debunked this load of Bisto on Gallifrey Base a few weeks ago. No, he was very careful with his words, saying he knew of no new missing episodes that had been returned to the BBC. When pressed on whether he could debunk this rumour of a big find that is under negotiation for a return, he didnt respond.

Quote: an eccentric engineer who worked for broadcasters across Africa???
Quote: the much touted DVD set Regenerations ... is a bluff
And the clue might be, the guy is a comic

Far more likely (50:50 say) that we get an episode or two back in time for the 60th Anniversary than this load of recycled rumour-mongering turns out to be true.
Still, if I'm wrong, I'll cheerfully place an order for the Found In Time DVD, just as soon as the Beeb announces it.

[pure speculation]I suppose it's not completely impossible that an audition print may have been sent, I can't recall off the top of my head when Evil was removed from the catalogue but it was shown in other parts of the world in 1969 [/pure speculation]

As one of the people that's seen NEARLY every episode (just Space Pirates 1,3,4,5 and 6 not seen ; well, I saw the first 5 minutes of Ep 1 when broadcast), I would LOVE this rumour to be correct, or even , as others say, partially correct.
However, as they say, when something sounds too good to be true ... that's cos it is.

And what about the animations that have been commissioned for IW,MB,TP? Surely the BBC/2 ENTERTAIN/BBC WORLDWIDE would have caught wind of the finds and stopped them?Or are these animations for episodes that have NOT been found? And if they have, will we be getting SEs of ROT etc where the animations have now been replaced by the actual episodes?Questions...questions...

Just speculating.... If you're talking about Rich Johnson, he lives in the UK. He's also someone that I wouldn't call a hoaxer. On the contrary, he has a good decent track record of breaking stories in the comic book industry. So we're not talking about an internet con artist, either. He's also worked at the BBC as a script writer (Smack the Pony), and I assume he'd like to again. Knowingly publishing a fake Doctor Who rumor would probably endanger that.

Excellent point. Why go for, animations if the episodes have been returned. More evidence, if it were needed, that this is Bisto. Just wishful thinking.
