Thanks. This was what I thought - I knew about the compilation show but was under the impression that some performances came from editions that no longer existed. That's right. The compilation (as screened in full last year at the Kal music event) contains several performances from missing editions. Chris Jagger for one, I seem to recall, plus one of the Bowie songs.

Thanks Laurence and everyone else for confirming there are a handful of missing editions of Harty's show. Good that at least some musical performances survive thanks to the compilation.
The Who's appearance would be genuinely interesting to see complete and unedited from the videotape. The interview was chopped up into many pieces in "The Kids Are Alright" movie so would be nice to actually see that in it's complete form since it's quite an amusing moment as it gradually dissolves into chaos. Harty later admitted it got out of control since it was one of his earliest shows so was still finding his feet and had it been a year later, he'd had gotten just as irreverent with the band!
There's a nice amusing interview with Harty in the 1975 NME annual where he talked about some of those shows and some moments were recalled. A classic one being Alvin Stardust coming on to be interviewed admitting bewilderment since he hadn't heard of Harty and thought it was some kind of kids puppet show and he wasn't allowed to do kids TV. Harty instantly seized the moment - "so you were BANNED from kids TV then?"

Yes, I have that book and remember the interview.
Shakin' Stevens tried the 'moody' and 'aggressive' interview pose (just like Alvin) but neither were really that person. (You might remember the interview, it appears on various 'compilation of clips' TV shows, .
Anyway, it ended with SStevens doing a 'bundle' on Richard Madely, he ends up looking like an over-excited boy scout...

This one is a bit of a mystery. If these are both from the same 'Russell Harty' show then the performance of 'See My Baby Jive' is performed on a totally different stage to 'Angel Fingers'. Also Roy has a large 'A' on his forehead in SMBJ and not in AF. Can anyone shed light on this?
