Did Oh Boy or Thank Your Lucky Stars........or indeed any of the other pop shows from the 1958-1964 perios (not TOTP though) have a Talent Contest of any type, Stars in the Making or similar.
Have found a clip from a pop show from this period, and I need to know what show it's from!

Ready Stead Go had a Brenda Lee lookalike competition, but not sure that constitutes talent!

TYLS did not as far as I know, unless you count two groups with the same name performing on the same show to see who was the best. Southern had a string of pop shows but they never seemed to take off. Any more details on the clip? |

It features the Vernon Girls. Hence my accuracy on the period.

The Ready, Steady, Go contest was a separate mid-week series "Ready Steady, Win". The Bo Street Runners were the eventual winners of the only (1964) series. An LP was issued on Decca featuring the contestants bo-street-runners.wikidot.com/ready-steady-win |

Yes! Missing audio! Well spotted. I think - THINK it's from 11/09/1964. The final was - I THINK 18/09/1964. The Bo Street Runners had already won their heat, as you can hear at the end of the tape. The Toggery Five came second overall. Nice find! |
