Hi,
I hope that this hasn't been posted elsewhere here on the forum, as it's good news.
From Sunday, September 2nd, 2012, Radio Bremen TV is repeating it's legendary music-tv programme of the 70's, MUSIKLADEN, successor to the also legendary Beat-Club.
The show started 40 years ago, on December 13th, 1972.
Radio Bremen TV is showing MUSIKLADEN every Sunday from September 2nd 2012 between 06:45 and 07:30 pm
via
Astra 19,2° east, transponder 101, 12,4215 Ghz, 27,500 MSym/s, 3/4 FEC, polarisation horizontal.
Regards,
Oliver.

It sure is good news that Musikladen is repeated, but at the same time it's bad news that these will be the 45 min versions again which means that several shows will be edited, some even heavily.

Sounds great - although this would not be the first time Radio Bremen has repeated this great show no doubt? How long now since the last lot of repeats?
If they start at Episode One and work their way through that would be excellent.
The editing part does not sound so good. Will the broadcasts bring to light anything not already existing in those DVD sets though (even though the sets were deleted long ago)

That was my first impression too Andreas. It looks like, they are not allowed to repeat the full shows for copyright reasons, this really is a shame. FWIK they will be repeated from show No. 1, as it is their 40th anniversary this year. Maybe one day, Radio Bremen will be allowed to rebroadcast the complete run of shows, but I doubt it, because in the meantime so many record companys got hold of the right to material fron their recording artists and they won't give them back to Radio Bremen TV, it's a tough and highly profitable buisness nowadays.

Do you really believe the episodes are cut for copyright reasons? As I understand it, the reason the episodes are cut is to have them all in the same length, i.e. 45 mins, which makes it much easier for programme planning. To answer Brett Leslie's question, yes there are two or three performances which were not included on the DVDs. I don't have the DVD boxes myself, but IIRC they were "Bobby Wright et al. - I Saw The Light" in episode 13 and "Frida - To Turn The Stone" in episode 76. I don't believe the Beatles videos that are missing in the DVD boxes will be shown during the repeats.

O.K., if they don't change the format, then the rest for me is worthless: Broadcast in 16:9 instead of the original 4:3 with artificial borders to the left & right of the sceen and black boarders on the upper and lover part of the screen, it's badly re-cut down to 45 minutes and the original 4:3 picture is placed more to the left instead of being positioned in the middle (center) of the screen!!! Historic tv of 1972 ruined in 2012!!!! Thank you Radio Bremen!!!

So much for German efficiency! Glad I acquired the box sets when I did, no logo's either.

I didn't have any black borders on the upper and lower part of the screen, but I agree this is a kind of strange approach. Besides, the bitrate was nothing to write home about. Nevertheless, I'll monitor if they will repeat some of the episodes that were left out by BR a few years ago. If so, I would probably just cut off the borders and still have a complete (4:3) picture. Unfortunately I couldn't make up my mind to buy the DVD boxes as they were quite expensive, and I reckoned the sales prices would fall later, just as they did with Beat-Club.

I don't know, who gives the orders at the production company "BREMEDIA", but their members did a terrible editing job and they mutilated the shows completely : www.bremedia-produktion.de/

I just compared first Show with the one from the DVD set box. It's a cut Version. Then I had a look into the show broadcast on BR . same cuts. So It's no new Edition , it's simply the old Cut Version aired.
Jörg Sonntag told me that he is not happy with all these edited Versions of Beat Club and Musikladen released over the last years. Today it have to be 45 MIN. in order to fit into program schedules.

There's going to be a Musikladen Anniversary concert in Bremen on Nov 3rd. I'm not sure exactly where as it's one of those occasions we get picked up at the airport and driven straight to the gig. Maybe Oliver or Frank know something more about it ?

It's really a shame and a totally missed chance and opportunity of Radio Bremen, not to show the full versions, especially as it is a jubilee. Why are there the restrictions to a time table nowadays, when longer television time was possible all those years ago? Today we have more channels, 24 hour broadcasting and even special digital programming, but all we get is nightly repeats of daytimme programmes instead of filling the gaps with fulltime repeats from long awaited programmes from the archives ? The<y shoud have asked the viewers first, not those young snobs who have not one bit of respect for tv history!

Maybe Oliver or Frank know something more about it ? The Location is an old cinema restructured end of the seventies as concert hall and Disco with many Live eventssince then. I Spend many weekends there. Its named "ALADIN" in Bremen - Hemelingen. Will you be there ? If yes it would be the best chance to drink the Beck's I promised you, when you're in Bremen.
