Thanks. I'll probably get this one as I like The Move. The problem with a similar volume by Curved Air is that it's NTSC converted from native PAL (region 0), which is a shame. Still, it's a good volume and nice to see the unreleased stuff getting utilised as well. Still no performance of Chinatown though...
Yes, good point! I see Ace Kefford had left by the time this clip was shot (although he was on the record) and Trevor Burton was still present, soon to go. Bilzen Jazz Festival is a live thing though so I wonder why this is under that banner when it's obviously the group miming? Maybe someone has dubbed the record over the top of the live appearance?
Unfortunately that Bilzen performance was dubbed by BR Music themselves. I know... I bought that Hits Of The 60's DVD which had this clip and returned it since I wasn't pleased by them dubbing records on top of live performances. The footage dates from mid 1968. You know how people aren't bothered if they get information wrong.
I was hoping that that 1969 (1968) clip was new. I'm getting a sense of deja vu over this aspect of overdubbing discs onto live performances on DVDs.Is it one company in particular?http://missingepisodes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=totp&action=modifypost&thread=7649&post=76214
At least in the case of The Move we do have contemporary footage for every one of their singles EXCEPT "Chinatown!"
There seems to be a lot of Move footage about, some of which have surfaced in recent years thanks to Italian and French TV, hence there is more than one clip for some of the hits. A pity no alternate clip of the much maligned "Curly" seems to exist - the Beat Club one really annoys me the way it was filmed. I think they only ever performed it on Beat Club and TOTP anyway.
