I thought these 'Lost Broadcast' DVDs had a bad reputation but, this Move footage looks fantastic. Great to see the original blue screen versions getting released. Must pre-order this one in case it quickly disappears.

It seems to be following the same format as the Curved Air volume, which also included the raw "blue screen" takes.

Has anyone else got any issues with this DVD as yet? Mine arrived this week and It looks crap. I checked online and all I can see are positive reviews about how wonderfuil it looks. My copy looks like a bad pal to ntsc conversion with every movement jittering. Just compared 'Fire Brigade' to the version on the Beat Club boxsets and this new 'Lost Broadcasts' version is way inferior. It's either going in the bin or on Ebay, what a shame such great footage has been so shoddily handled. That's the last 'Lost Broadcasts' DVD I buy.

They are NTSC, Mike. The Curved Air one is the same unfortunately. I do wish PAL-originated material could be released in PAL countries in it's native format. I have the same issues with the (otherwise excellent) Reeling In The Years sets.

My copy looks Ok, it's nowhere near as good as it should be if it were PAL, but this seems to becoming the 'norm' now with archive DVD releases. The last one i bought 'Kinks Kollected' suffered the same PAL to NTSC conversion issues.
Also bear in mind that these Move performances are not the transmitted versions either so comparing with the Beat Club box set versions the quality may be a little lower.

I think Laurence said the same about the 'Magical Mystery Tour' DVD. Why do they do this? Are most of the world's players NTSC?

Mine looked ok, or at least good enough that I wasn't conscious of there being any problems with it while watching. I suppose I should go back and re-watch it now other people have raised issues. But overall I was pretty pleased with it.

I was aware The Move's DVD was NTSC but it just looks sloppy compared to other releases. I also have (too) many archive DVD releases that are in the NTSC format but none of them suffer from such sloppy conversion as this one. The recent T.Rex 'Electric Warrior' boxset was NTSC and contained the blue-screen Beat Club footage and looked perfect. Other NTSC releases by Dr.Feelgood and Cilla Black again both look superb. The easiest way to notice these flaws is to watch the drummer, the movement of the arms drumming just bugs me.

Also bear in mind that these Move performances are not the transmitted versions either so comparing with the Beat Club box set versions the quality may be a little lower. They should actually be a generation higher in quality rather than lower though, as these untransmitted versions are from the raw session tapes rather than copies inserted into the edited programme masters (which are a generation down from the raw tapes)! My Curved Air set looks OK considering it's NTSC but you can definitely tell it isn't as high quality as a native PAL version would be. It's irritating that a lot of the music DVD releases emanate from America, so we have to suffer a conversion process for recordings which began on PAL! Ironic also that although we now have a superior format to watch TV material on (DVD as opposed to VHS) which is capable of high quality, the source material is often unnecessarily downgraded!

Led Zeppelin seem to be on the right track offering both PAL and NTSC versions of their new release but have gone to the extreme in offering the version you may require. Look at the versions that can be found here, I'd hate to be a Led Zepp completist! 'Outtakes' in general tend to be of lower quality from what i've experienced

I don't think these are, judging by the quality of the Curved Air outtakes. The Germans seem to have been meticulous when it comes to preserving their Beat Club and pop TV archive. A master studio reel (if it survives) will generally be higher quality though for the reasons mentioned.

Yes I agree that the Germans have kept their archives in pristine condition and these Beat Club masters are a great example. The issues with these performances remain the NTSC transfers that have been done to them.
