It's a nice piece of work. You know, I see all these little snippets of episodes colourised on youtube, would it not make sense for you to organise somehow, choose one episode, and each do a few minutes each so we have one complete colour episode at the end of it?

I'm having some discussions, but to be honest it'd be a very, very difficult thing to organise and keeping the momentum up would be a real job.
Encase anyone missed it at the bottom of the last page:
Very nice work. The colour is almost perfect! I really don't know anything about it, but would results be nicer working with the original VT (not that any exist) or with a 35mm TR?? How do you decide what colours are to be in backgrounds, clothes etc. (with little or no colour pictures for reference) or is that dictated by the level of grey in the individual items within the pictures? Mind boggling stuff! Especially considering it's pretty much coloured frame by frame!!
I'm convinced the word "Karaoke" is Japanese for I'm a tone deaf, talentless pain in the ears"!!

Thank you for the kind words. I must say the reaction I've got from the Doctor Who community has been amazing. The video has been online for less than 24 hours and it's generated 1,509 views and 322 likes! I've got nearly 20 subscribers and two pages of comments! It's made all the hard work worth while.
The image you're seeing is actually scaled to 150% as I was working off such a poorly sourced video. If I had a 35mm TR I think I could massively improve the colour look. Of course it'd also show up any mistakes I've made so it'd be a case of weighing it up.
In terms of the colours I used. I looked for on set photos (limited) and other colour images of Susan/The Doctor in costume etc. That helps me get the right yellow for the waistcoat or navy for the jacket etc. Somethings simply don't have any reference available to it's a case of tweaking it to what feels right, taking a screen break and then checking again. I once focused so much on the skin tone I thought it was perfect, only to return and realise I'd given Hartnell purple skin! So it takes a lot of reflection and thought - it can be tricky to make sure the mix is right and no one colour is too strong compared to the others.

Wow, I assumed you had a nice scan of the 16mm TR!! Considering the source material you have used I'm even more impressed!! I know the episode "Flashpoint" only exists as a 16mm, I would be interested to see how a scene or two from "The Waking Ally" (which exists in 35mm) would look..
