Can people post their queries on the existence of BFI material in the "BFI finds" thread please. This one is purely for Chris to post responses from the BFI on said queries. Thanks.

Some great great news here from the NFA:
Most definitely the Sound of Laughter Pilot.
Clock at beginning of tape has ‘Sound of Laughter no. 2’ on the slate.
Begins with Sound of Laughter title screen followed by ‘Tonight’….’A Sharp Intake of Breath’. Very good quality picture.
and it's a D3 ex-2". Hooray! Glad I double-checked.
But better still:
Have checked the film master of ‘Search for a Star Final’ – this is definitely a Rediffusion programme. Most likely tx 14/12/64.
Finals Judge Benny Green Judge Philip Oakes Judge Jack Hylton Judge Philip Hope-Wallace Judge Alan Brien Judge Herbert Kretzmer Judge Dame Marie Rambert Judge Paddy Stone Judge Peter Darrell with Hazel Framingham, Wendy Padbury, Christine Bell, Judi Johnson, Ann Taylor and Josie Earle Introduced by Keith Fordyce Choreography by Leo Kharibian Produced by No credit listed Directed by Peter Croft A Rediffusion Television production. Originally transmitted 14.12.1964
The Best Sellers asked about are in this thread earlier on.
Those Merry Go Rounds asked about all exist on digibeta.

Harry Towers was experimenting with Hi Definition, using Pye electronic cameras capable of resolving over a 1000 lines.Basically he was just trying to sell his films as 'films' and not the cheaply and quickly made telerecorded, television multi camera efforts that they in fact were. This find dates from the era he was doing this.

This post is just for lostshows.com to update their records, and refers to an earlier post here - it is not a new find - it is a repeat of information
From the BFI:-""This is most definitely an LWT programme called FRANKIE AND TOMMY on the title (but Frankie Howerd in Ulster on the prod. Slate, possibly a working title). Documentary on Frankie Howerd entertaining the troops in Northern Ireland. NFA are having difficulty finding a network tx for this but have an ATV tx 6/4/73""
""Missing or incomplete episodes for programme FRANKIE HOWERD IN ULSTER.
14.03.73 Episode 1 (missing)""
TOTP fans may like to note that Pan's People appeared on this show.

According to my records here it exists on 16mm film and is listed as existing. Are you saying Lost shows still says its missing Ray?

The edition you are referring to is a 1973 BBC Northern Ireland one-off, nothing to do with LWT.
