No! I'm surprised. It's NOT on Motion Gallery!

Yes... I thought that 31-12-70 footage was believed to exist. It wasn't actually TOTP and from what I recall reading about it many years ago also featured Lulu and a handful of not quite big names giving it a bit of a low key feeling. The whole show is gone but parts of it do exist.
I think this was also the infamous occasion where Keith Moon had a broken arm or wrist, so had his arm tied up to a rope, where offscreen, Vivian Stanshall pulled on it to move it around!

But of confusion, latterly, as to whether this was a Lulu show, or a show entitled 'Top of the Pops Into 1971' (which it is) owing to a cock-up on an audio bootleg, coming from the fact Lulu is on it.

That will make a BBC compilation look something like this.
A Whole Scene Going Out In The Streets Pete Townshend Q&A It's Not True
TOTP Happy Jack (filmed for the Beeb?)
Twice A Fortnight I Can See For Miles
Pop Go The 60's I Can See For Miles
TOTP / Hits-a-go-go The Seeker
TOTP Won't Get Fooled Again
TOTP I Don't Even Know Myself Naked EYe
TOTP 5.15
OGWT Relay Long Live Rock
2nd House Pete Townshend Interview Live at Charlton
TOTP You Better You Bet
Anything else?

That's not a bad little run of perfomances.
Usually, for an act often featured on TV, the problem is over-repetition of 'the big hit(s)'. At least, here this only happened for one song.

Did the BBC show a little bit of 'My Generation' from the Glad Rag Ball in one of their docs? Wouldn't mind seeing the whole performance.

So I follow the link and am all ready to watch the entire documentary. Got my comfy chair, a soft cushion and a pint.
"Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only, but all BBC iPlayer Radio programmes are available to you."
Kind of hard to watch on the radio. Wonderful.

Unlikely any of these clips are in the official BBC archive. Jean Genie isn't back at the BBC Archives. Production departments get hold of this material now, ánd they keep the master tapes to prevent other productions buying the footage, thereby giving them an exclusivity. c Wow. That's really surprising, given the high profile the return of this clip gained! Can't the archives just step in and ask for the clip back for preservation purposes? I'd hate to see internal politics get in the way of important material being properly preserved.
