Made a submission to Lost Shows.com for the following episode of The Adventures Of Rupert Bear. ITC. Kaleidoscope contacted the bfi who have confirmed they do hold this episode on both Digital Betacam and Digital Tape. 21/1/76 The Crock Of Gold. Lost Shows.com say there are still many more episodes of Rupert missing...so keep looking everyone. Good advice-and that goes for the bfi, too! As Pete Morris said,(June 29th 2012): Rupert and the Buried Silver 31/12/75 Rupert and the Rope Ladder 7/10/71 Rupert and the Magic Ball [French version] Rupert and the Truant 16/9/71 Rupert and the Baby Badger 30/9/71 Rupert and the Witch’s Chariot 31/10/73Panos Rupert and the Bedoozle Man 2/10/74 Rupert and the Golden Egg 16/10/74 Several of those don't show up on a search, at least not through this engine. nwfaunionsearch.mmu.ac.uk/indexAdvanceSearch.dhtmlMakes you wonder what else they have, uncatalogued. Some of those are listed as existing, with burnt-in subtitles. Has it been confirmed if the BFI hold clean copies?
With 'Ruperts' and 'Sounds of Britan' continuing to turn up,it looks to me as though there could be a mass of uncatalogued/very recently catalogued material in the archives.Remember, the bfi had the shows which triggered this thread for thirty years or more, invisible, uncatalogued. Oh...and nice one,Simon!
John Here are the 10 episodes currently listed as held at the bfi, it includes The Crock Of Gold located above. Rupert and The Falling Star 26/9/73, Rupert And The Buried Silver 1974, Rupert And The Rope Ladder 7/10/71, Rupert And The Magic Ball French Version 1971 Rupert And The Truant 16/9/71, Rupert And The Baby Badger 30/9/71, Rupert And The Witch's Chariot 31/10/73, Rupert And The Bedoozle Man 2/10//74, Rupert And The Golden Egg 16/10/74. None of these 9 are listed as Missing on Lost Shows.com. None of these have any mention of burnt-in subtitles. The Crock Of Gold 21/1/76 located above, but currently showing as Missing on Lost Shows.com until LS is updated. The bfi does have a filmographic record for one other episode Rupert And The Magic Ball 17/2/71..no film or video held at bfi..not listed as Missing On Lost Shows.com. hope this helps..

Pete the bfi have just confirmed to me that for rope-ladder, truant and baby badger...there are no sub-titles on screen. They also provided this extra information.. Rope-Ladder 7/10/71 has no titles at beginning or end. The Truant 16/9/71 has a pre-title narrator announcing the story title. Baby Badger 30/9/71 has main titles but no pre-title narrator.

The bfi have kindly confirmed that they do hold the following Advertising Magazine on this format..
On Show Tonight..An Advertising Magazine 09-59. 16 mm combined print. Granada Television.
Lost Shows.com say Advertising Magazines.. 1437 episodes were made, 1423 episodes are Missing. These were made by most of the ITV stations. With so many currently Missing, there is plenty of scope to locate some more of these, which may be at other places other than the bfi..

I remember a clip from one of these being shown on Fantasy Football League, possibly 10/12/77 as it's on a newer format.

I remember a clip from one of these being shown on Fantasy Football League, possibly 10/12/77 as it's on a newer format. There are two clips on youtube, but I believe these come from an existing edition (namely 03/12/1977). The clips show the very wonderful Stephanie De Sykes, and the other has Mickey Dolenz and Davy Jones promoting 'The Point'.

www.lostshows.com/default.aspx?search=her+majesty%27s+pleasurelooking at the listing above, we see that out of 14, 13 are Missing and one exists on a format inferior to the original, that being 20/3/69 Tea For Two Hundred, held on 16 mm, but originally made on 2" colour videotape.. made a submission this lunchtime to lostshows.com, for at the bfi is Tea For Two Hundred, Granada Television, 1969-03-20...Cast: John Sharp, Ken Jones, Paddy Joyce, held on 2" Quadruplex which Kaleidoscope tells me is the same as 2" Colour Videotape. Kaleidoscope have immediately confirmed the holding and say " Our mistake on the holding, thanks for spotting it" Now the credit for this 'find', located item, should really go to one William McGregor, whose slight slip-up this morning, led to the posting of the TV Times upload on the Confessions Of A Chatter-Upper thread and on that television schedule was also H.M. Pleasure, so if the slip-up had never happened, we might never have located this item, quite so soon...so William something good has come out out it..thanks! Since this was a Granada Television comedy, it makes me wonder if itnsource just might have another episode or two...would some-one else care to check, using the link above that has the ME titles..

You clever devil,Simon.I got as far as checking Lostshows for the title, since it sounded so interesting, but it seemed v. unlikely that it was worth chasing it up.There's a lesson for us all there-not least that it was worth your asking about 'Confessions of a Chatter-Upper' in the first place. Worth pointing out that the only other episode previously known was a black and white copy,so this is the first colour one.
