All I got to say patience is a virtue, we can cry over spilt milk ~ eps will show up but we still have clips, scripts and audio amd if worse comes worse we can animate!

Looking at recent threads elsewhere on this esteemed MB it would appear that we're somewhat better off with what survives of our favourite time travelling police box dweller than many other series. We've also got a really great bunch in the RT who've given us Vidfire, Reverse Standards Conversion, Colour Recovery, etc to ensure that we get the best possible DVDs. Perhaps we should count our blessings ?

Erk! Which episode was that, Steve..? Celestial Toymaker..... Fortunately it's not the master print - the BBC has that.

@peter -- I can't tell if you are joking or serious... Water is death on emulsion - you should NEVER put water on film... If you need to clean it, you need to use something like Filmrenew , vitafilm, filmguard, Ecco 1500, Renovex, etc - something specifically formulated to be safe on emulsion...

I don't know if anything important was junked, but when my dad died, my mum get rid a lot of his film collection. I didn't have any idea until I came to this site that a producer like the BBC would have destroyed their only copies of things. That seems crazy.

The guy who returned the two Doctor who prints last year had no idea they were missing, nor did Francis Watson who returned the Daleks' Master Plan episode.

So things are still turning up?

In NZ all the census information collected prior to 1966 was destroyed in the 70s after being deemed of no further interest.
