I'm sure I'll meet a few interesting characters along the way ...I smell a sitcom... A missing one?

"and also is it worth trawling back through the small ads of old film and film making magazines to get leads on old dealers? this organisation appears to have a large collection of archived magazines but perhaps older than the time period we are interested in? wordpress.ppttrust.org/archive/ppt-archive-catalogue" Firstly I don't think there's much to be gained from doing this- there are few dealers still around from the 'glory days' that the mags would cover. Also the film collecting community, at least in the UK, is quite tightly knit- i.e. the main dealers are well known (and their lists routinely scoured!) so those that are around are checked pretty thoroughly. Secondly, as the archivist of the Projected Picture Trust you can rest assured that if I do happen to stumble across anything it will be followed up! :-)
