[...people are going to be very pessimistic until a BBC representative like Paul Vanezis or Steve Roberts publicly says something has been found. Fans have been burned too many time to just take something at face value from somebody that just appears out of nowhere. I can understand that sentiment and I'm grateful the value people on the board put in myself and Steve. I should add that over the years we have tried to act as impartial conduits for material to be returned to the rights holders. People that have film own the physical film. They can do with it whatever they like, but we have been successful in persuading many of them to either return the film or loan it to the BBC, often giving up our personal time to ensure material gets back. Whilst we will still both continue to do this, you should know that myself and Steve are leaving the BBC. I'll be the last to go at the end of January. I hope people will still approach us in the same manner as by then we'll be even more impartial! Regards, Paul Good luck and all the best for your future efforts. Your work has been greatly appreciated.
