As some of you probably know, I am working on a research project about Ulster Television and its archive. As part of it, I'm trying to get a handle as to what off-airs exist of local programming and news bulletins in private hands. I'm interested in any genre of programming.
I'm interested in anything up to around 1990. I thought I might start my quest by asking here if anyone has any off-air footage or knows where I can find some.
Obviously, if the unlikely event that anyone has any telerecordings or broadcast quality footage laying around somewhere, I would also be interested...

I have access to the official UTV archive - I am just trying to gather together details of off-airs so I can establish if anything in private hands is missing from the archives.

slightly O/T
I was wondering if the great Ulster astronomy series from the 1970s still exists which starred Terence Murtugh ?
then of course that play 'boatman do not tarry' but that was from a time that played up to Irish stereotypes I think?

Two quick replies. I can't give any state secrets away ;D but...
1. The astronomy show was called Look Up and I am not sure what its survival status is.
2. The original 16mm insert reel and some negative material for Boatman Do Not Tarry does exist but the complete programme doesn't.
No 35mm material was ever filmed, the listing in the British Independent Television Drama Guide is an error.

Ken, any news on the Spotlight 'Ian Whitcomb' material (plus production footage) from '73 that I found in UCLA?

I'll look into them. Fiddler On The Road definitely exists - a better quality copy is on the UTV website in the archives section.
