I'm somewhat shocked that this show from 90/91 (also called Jools Holland's Happening) is listed as missing!
I barely remember it, in truth, but a show this late being missing must surely be down to the independent production company????
There seem to be various clips on youtube, but a missing show, THIS recent?!?!?!?!

It was made for BSB by Noel Gay TV originally. Those C4 screenings were repeats of that material. Noel Gay TV disposed of most of the material they made for BSB and hardly anything exists now. There was a plea made here a while ago for missing material in the form of off-airs / material held by production personnel etc. Some has since been uncovered on SVHS / VHS formats although the masters seem to be long gone. Yes, it's shocking that this happened in the '90s. The saddest loss of the BSB material for me was I Love Keith Allen, of which quite a few off-airs do survive. Take a look at the thread on Kal / Raiders recoveries in the last year or two for more details on the BSB material.

Indeed, I have. It is a very shocking thing to have happened, I quite agree.

Was the Happening all clips from other TV shows? or in studio material? If so were any famous bands broadcast?

No. It was an original programme created for BSB. No clips. A kind of music and alternate variety show. Jools Holland presented it and there were live groups, comedians etc. as guests (e.g. Nick Lowe was one of the guests, I seem to recall).

It was a live show presented by Jools Holland.
I don't remember very many people who were on it but the one part I have on VHS is Squeeze performing with Jools - including a cover of 'Cold Turkey' the John Lennon song which was cut from the Channel 4 repeat!
A quick google reveals other acts included Midge Ure, Sam Brown Ben E,.King, Jack Dee, Bill Hicks, so its fair to say there were pretty big names on it and I'm anazed its been wiped!

A VHS of Status Quo's performance on the show from 1991 has been located. Thank you Gary Jordan!

'Another Nail in my Heart',too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ_dDCDSp1I&feature=plcp It can get difficult when artistes make several appearances. This show had Fred Dinenage,Melvyn Hayes, and Tony Bastable one week.(Survives in home format)? Wow.

Oh dear. I always think that anyone named Bastable ought to be in an E.Nesbit book... Anyway,I must say that the Youtube uploader seem up on this 'missing master-tape' business.
