Slightly O/T - but definitely worth mentioning....Laurence, Julien Temple had a video recorder in the late 70's and is known to have kept some tapes. Some recordings were used in '96's 'the Filth and the Fury'....if anyone has contact details for Mr Temple, please let me know! I don't think a letter addressed to 'Julien Temple, Bridgwater, Somerset' will cut the mustard! (by the way, it is COMMON knowledge he lives in Bridgwater!) I migth be able to help you. I will send you a facebook message if i remember

If an ITV company was interviewing an actor and required Dr.Who clips for this or some other type of programme, would the BBC have supplied full episodes? It would have just been clips and they would have been returned to the BBC after they were used.

and some colour rehearsal footage on 2" from the Thames 1968 Horne A Plenty turned up at BBC Pebble Mill, according to BFI literature for MBW. In fact I found four Quad tapes in Bob Wallis' attic in Bognor Regis, the same man who recorded Doctor Who - 'Space Pirates' ep 2 and Triton. Those four were the only ones he hadn't turned into half inch tape. Two were blank, one had a 1971 edition of Armchair Theatre on and the final one had the aforementioned 'Horne' colour rehearsal. It was recorded on Christmas Eve 1968 and had an ABC TV recording card. Ironic that it was in colour and the programme was broadcast in black and white. In fact the inserts that were played into the rehearsal were black and white VT, so it's quite a rarity. The actual episode doesn't exist although we do have the soundtrack from the Ed Doolan collection. I transferred it at Pebble Mill to D3 (which I still have) and made a beta SP for Dick. I sent the Quad tape to Steve Bryant, so I assume it is safe and sound at the BFi. Paul
