I far as I remember the first episode was shown sometime in September 1963 on Associated Rediffusion, London's Monday to Friday ITV Company.
The final two episodes were shown sometime in July 1967. (I believe some ITV companies pushed for a final episode to be made before they would continue to broadcast further episodes.)
There were 120 episodes, the first series was made in 1963 and the last series in 1967, all made by Q.M. Productions.

Researching old London editions of TV Times would be the best way to get the TX dates. BFI library is a good place to do this.

In my previous reply I stated that the first episode (Fear in a Desert City) was shown sometime in the September of 1963. But, it may have been in the autumn of 1964.
So, if and when you come to confirm the broadcast dates in the appropriate back issues of the TV Times, those are the two periods to look up.
Incidentally, it wasn't until after a few episodes that the beginning of the story is told (as a flash-back), the episode being 'The Girl from Little Egypt'.

Does anyone know where I can find the correct production order for Series 1 of the Fugitive? For instance, I know that "Girl from Little Egypt" was number 14 in transmission order, but actually number 3 in production order, and the series in general makes much more sense viewed in production order.
Thanks, Steve

Stephen Doran
I have several TV Times throughout the 1960's, some being London editions.
I been going through some of them and have written down 5 episode titles with T/X dates so far. I can either list them here in due course or if you prefer to give me your email address, can send them there.
Indeed the series seems to have commenced in the London area in the Autumn of 1964, on Wednesday 25 November 1964 in fact at 8pm (a more or less regular slot through 1965). It is shown as a new series with a one page feature on page 11 of that weeks TV Times. The episode title being "Decision in the Ring".

The Times Digital Archive is a very good, very quick way of getting pre-1985 tx dates, if that's all you need. Your local library should have a subscription. Here in Suffolk, they have a sub that allows library users to access the archive remotely from our home computers. Cracking stuff.
