Assuming it was originally recorded on either Philips 1500 or U-Matic (basically the main colour formats around in 1975) and hasn't been dubbed to something else in the interim, it's probably on one of those. Good news as regards decent picture quality, in which case.

My money is on U-matic, but that's an educated guess, and no more than that.

Quote 'It was found by Keith Badman and it was he who supplied it to Queen Productions Ltd.'
Its interesting that this clip found its way to the Queen management rather than back to the BBC or Kal. Presumably Mr Badman knew this clip was missing but (I'm guessing) decided to sell it to the Queen management rather than getting it back to an archive.
Cant see Queen management rushing to get this back to the BBC as they are now sitting on an exclusive.

Keith has offered missing material back to the BBC in the past that he has located himself in overseas archives and elsewhere but has met a wall of indifference. So I can guess he didn't bother offering it this time and quite understandably offerered it to a different place, where it might have a safe home. Just guessing here but I can easily think that may have been his thinking.

The BBC are aware of it, that much I can tell you.

Going back to Markcole's info in regards to Queen Management having the Christmas performance for 45,Even more great news there in regards! Many Thanks again for posting and sharing this here,is very much appreciated indeed.Hoping they decide the time may come to use this material in the near future?Queen-The Early TV Years DVD Release Anyone? I have also just noticed this clip for the "Now I'm Here"Top Of The Pops Clip. There is another similar clip on YouTube, however with no audio sadly. However, this recent upload does have audio as well,is hard to tell if the poster attemted to sync a studio recording of NIH for this material? Or if is the real deal?Might anyone know if the vocals were left live for this performance by the way?Just curious there is all. As for the source recording medium here,my best guess would be with Ray here on U-Matic more than likely here, and a great example if this is indeed the case. Let me know what is thought here in regards: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmZXZU2b_qY&feature=related&fmt=18Cheers,Lance.

I see part of the Now I'm Here TOTP performance was shown on BBC4's Queen documentary From Rags to Rhapsody. It's repeated on Wednesday 10.30pm or on iplayer.

The Now I'm Here is from 30/01/1975.
Keith Badman located it.
Queen Productions Ltd bought it.
The audio was replaced for the Stormtroopers exhibition, because it's a re-recorded backing track with different guitars, vocals and hasn't got the 'whew' noise before the 'don't I love her so....' line.
It may have been a repeat from 16/01/1975. The PasBs are not entirely clear, but I think this is the case.
Any other questions, ask me.
