Also of note, before the quite weird deletion of the previous Queen thread, this was posted as well from the DLT "Seven Seas Of Rhye"Top Of The Pops performance. Is rather odd how even the moderators cannot figure out what may of happened here.Would of thought those in authority here might be able to let the rest of us know why this fantastic thread, and news was deleted. Both of these segments look amazing, very interested to hear further in regards to Dave Lee Travis's copy of this as well as Queen rumored to have the full TOTP edition for which Now I'm Here was lifted from for the exhibition of late. Thanks again to Markcole for posting the news here, are quite right, this is exactly the place for this sort of news,no idea why they may of deleted your great thread? Here is the Seven Seas clip which was posted previously: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVwecgdAh8U&fmt=18Cheers,Lance.

I wouldn't assume there's any strange conspiracy by the moderators to delete the thread, Lance! I deleted an individual posting myself from a person using a handle against forum rules but that was just one post.

Hi again (& thanks LanceM for your kind comments), I can now confirm that the Queen video of Now i'm here is 100% definitetly from TOTP (but the good news is that the bands appearance on "45" is in their archive . I have made the comparison between the Queen footage & a Steve Harley performance & the backdrop/stage is identical. Here's Steve Harley.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8QRpPvxj8wNow Queen...Identical stage. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtwJkEC8ak Thanks again everyone.

This 'Now I'm Here' clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtwJkEC8ak) comes from TOTP, 100 per cent!!!
It is NOT from the Granada programme, 45. It was found by Keith Badman and it was he who supplied it to Queen Productions Ltd.

Also, is the clip a complete performance, Ray?

The moment i saw the Queen TOTPS clip i thought Steve Harley/Cockney Rebel performing Make Me Smile. The set is exactly the same, somewhat unusual. Although the Make Me Smile performance is credited as 24/12/75 that's only because it was the Christmas edition trawl through all the Number One's of that particular year.As far as i can make out i believe the performance is from January 30th 1975.Does that tie in with Queen being on the show on that date?

That's a good question. Queen performed this 3 times on TOTP, 16/01/75, 30/01/75 and 13/02/75.

There's a fair amount of 13/02/75 surviving so maybe that one?

I will ask Keith, my original thought is it's the 16th repeated on the 30th (January in both cases).
13th February was a repeat.

I can confirm that the Now I'm Here footage comes from 30/01/75 edition of TOTP and that the clip exists in full.

Do you know what format the footage exists on, Ray?

I can tell you that it comes from a domestic video recording made at the time of broadcast.
That much I know. What actual make of video recorder it was recorded on, I do not know.
I may be able to find out, but I can't promise.
