...would like to hear some verifi action explaining what contact took place previously and by whom, what contact took place recently and withwhom-also how. Yes, I think everyone wants that, but the time for that is in the future. When the dust has settled, the story will be told, and it's surprisingly quite interesting. Regards, Paul Something for a second edition of Molesworth's book, perhaps?

Regards, Paul Paul: How long before you can say that the detailed search and research for the "lost" episodes, country-by-country will be completed and it will be known for sure what is what with who? Is there still much work ahead?

The list of material lost is far too distressing to print here. I think it's reasonable to assume that Paul means missing Who, and probably not just the odd episode here and there either I see they bought Marco Polo and The Massacre, two of the stories without a single second of surviving footage. It is believed that the "Unearthly Child" to "The Chase" were sent from Sierra Leone to Ethiopia - so there is a chance the historicals could be somewhere in Ethiopia. Remember, the BBC only struck up anywhere from one to four prints of each episode to bicycle around the stations. "The Lads" know where the last stop for ever episode was and where to look.

Pauls has given the impression he has something in the works outside of Africa Since Paul appears to be finished with Africa, hopefully you find better results Was that 1-4prints for Africa or total?

That would be between one to four prints total. Some single prints traveled far and wide! Most fans didn't realize that was that few. Amazing to think that the two episodes that were just found would have been 25-33% of the total copies of these episodes.

Maybe I'm being ignorant or optimistic but I'm wondering if the debree of the destruction could be protecting the film underneith This remind me of the burning of the library of alexander Even if the building collapsed in a pile of rubble, rainfall over the last twelve years would have eventually penetrated through the rubble to reach the cans and the films. Water can ruin film in no time at all.

You are right that the weather there is against us and the amount of time, so the odds are against us. If there is any chance, given the significance of the situation.. and the lack of print sets, I would chip into an excavation project ... cans can work like a coffin and protect the films. Also if there is significant rubble over it. that could add extra protection. Granted its a long shot.. but everything appears to be that way today. I don't have any films, yet if I did, it would be interesting to attempt to bury some( in plastic cans), run heavy water over them and see what happens. Maybe I'm being ignorant or optimistic but I'm wondering if the debree of the destruction could be protecting the film underneath This remind me of the burning of the library of alexander Even if the building collapsed in a pile of rubble, rainfall over the last twelve years would have eventually penetrated through the rubble to reach the cans and the films. I personally wouldn't read too much into things. Its easy to misread stuff. If Paul has an iron in the fire, so to speak, I expect we will hear about it when it materialises and no one is going to get let down

If people had the chance to see all of Patrick Troughton's episodes, he would be given much more credit for his work on the show. I've encountered some fans saying that McCoy was a much better actor than Patrick Troughton. I really was surprised to hear that. I didn't know what to say.

Was Troughton able to hammer a nail into his own nose? No, he wasn't. Now that's real talent. ;-)
