Very interesting item, Tim! It confirms what we all presumed about the series all along. Thanks. What a shame the whole series can't be released in it's entirety (a DVD of which i'd buy in a flash) or returned to it's home territoiry.

Yes, it's a real shame. I'd love to see some of those musical acts in colour. I would assume the lack of musical acts was simply a cost cutting exercise to make the release profitable. I would imagine that if someone has the money and the inclination, it would be possible to release full-length shows, well certainly in the U.S. I would imagine that the rights would be too expensive to acquire from the rights holders here.

Hi Peter, that clip is from NBC's Hullabaloo show. It's quite a good source for footage of British pop acts.

Yes, i'd particularly love to see the Zombies performance - in colour (possibly their only existing colour appearance?)! A sad thing also is that possibly many of the people who would potentially licence such a clip for inclusion in a compilation DVD release or TV documentary, would probably not even know it existed for making use of! We TV buffs didn't even know for certain until now that it was still sitting on a shelf somewhere.

I was thinking that a company like Reelin' In The Years would be ideal for using some of the musical clips. With them being in the U.S, they'd be able to licence the material for an American release which we'd be able buy online

You should be appointed their consultant, Tim. I'm sure you could point them in the direction of obscure clips for licencing!

Are the colour copies telerecordings? I ask because in the clip a few seconds after the start there seems to be a scratch down the right side of frame. No, it's definitely interlaced VT, although I appreciate it's not always easy to see on a progressive computer screen.

Thanks. The colour looks lovely I must say. Seeing it brought back memories of circuses on TV as a kid. Though in black and white in our house No, it's definitely interlaced VT, although I appreciate it's not always easy to see on a progressive computer screen.

Yes, i've seen the Zombies clip before. It's just a pity we can't see the pristine colour version! Interesting performance though.
