I thought it was Thames around 1968 but just checked with the BFI apparently a Rediffusion production. may not of had any smugglers in it after all LOL, but certainly a type of live action Skooby Doo with creepy country houses and kid heroes. A Rediffusion serial that exists complete, Peter? I think I'd better go get the smelling salts! I wonder what the chances of seeing it are? Thanks anyway for the information. The Tingaree Affair sounds a little bit familar too but can't remember it in any detail at the moment. Dave

I remember THE FLOWER OF GLOSTER one of the actors in it was Richard....cant remember his surname he was the son of actress Patrica Hayes...no he didnt use her name.. I remember that another was Annette Robertson (was in The Young Ones with Cliff, Ann Chaplet in Dr Who The Massacre and a short stay in Coronation street). Other memories of the series include that one episode had them pass a narrow boat carrying a coffin for a funeral and the episode also featured a baby being born nearby. I did have afew lines recorded on 1/4 in tape from when they passed Little Venice on entering London, not sure where the tape is at present.

Back to Flower of Gloster then ....
as time passes is this to be yet another classic programme to be locked away in the archives forever?

Registered with ITNSource and ALL episodes appear to be available - BUT AT A PRICE. Anyone know how to proceed with obtaining - legally - the full series? Incidentally since the full series is available from ITNSource - then why can't the series be re-issued onto DVD by Network et al? It appears that the recordings have already been digitised.

Much as I love 'inverted commas' and "quotation marks",I think that they needn't have bothered with 'crewing' from the verb "to crew"!
