Did anyone happen to record the 1968 edition of Dee Time shown on BBC Four from 10.05 to 10.30pm on Saturday June 5th as part of BBC Four's 60s Night?
I had my video recorder set to record this show, among others, but unexpectedly, when I came to watch the tape I found that a technical hitch in my satellite receiver had prevented it from recording.
I will be contacting my local dealer to look into this but if anyone recorded this 1968 edition, could you please record me a copy?, as I was so looking forward to watching this earlier today, when I discovered the outcome.
As I'm new to this forum, I don't know if it's a trading forum but if not, or if nobody recorded Dee Time, could you point me in the direction of which forums do trading?, as I'm very keen to obtain a copy of this Dee Time.
Additionally, I'd also like to see Call My Bluff and the other programmes from BBC Four's 60s Night, which also didn't record, due to the same fault but my first choice is Dee Time, and if anyone has that or could advise me where I could find a forum with any owners of that show, I'd be very grateful indeed.
Hope you can help.

I taped everything from Saturday night, even the cock-ups! Both Marty and the 30 Minute play switched from 4:3 to Widescreen, most annoying!
Dee Time was quite good, though i think i've seen that one before somewhere.
Sadly Call My Bluff was extremly boring, only interesting part of the night was The News!

Perhaps you should have done as I did, and forced your box into 4:3 at the start of the night. The things that I found insidious were the problems with the sound on Sunday night - out of sync for a considerable part, coupled with seemingly random level changes. It's almost as if they are expecting people to try to record and keep their output! Jim, knowing only too well BBC4's habit of cocking these things up.

It's almost as if someone on the broadcast side is reading all this and thinking up ways of annoying anyone who watches these repeats. I quite liked the irony in showing the Till Death, intact from a 405 line VT conversion, with no on screen BBC-4 graphics and no end credits continuity announcement, but ultimately dropping the sound 30 mins into the episode!

Here is my e-mail address: whittaker969@yahoo.co.uk I saw several editions of Dee Time when it was first shown and may very well have seen this edition at the time but I didn't have any recording equipment in the 60s and I was so dismayed when I found my satellite receiver wasn't working, on Saturday, as I was looking forward to the whole evening's line-up but especially Dee Time but if you're happy to record Dee Time and the other programmes from the 60s Night for me, I'll send you a cheque in return.

Shirley, It might help if you include an email address. Cheers, L Thanks for that. I've had a lot of spam, so I don't generally like to give out my e-mail address but I see your point and have since included it.

It is the only complete edition (originally tx'd 2/11/68), although the edition tx'd 3/5/69 is only missing the titles, apparently. The other holdings for the series are a number of telerecoring excerpts.
The Equals played "Softly Softly".

thanks for that , is the 69 ep the one with clodagh rogers, dee on the chair in the strong mans teeth etc? since the titles were the same I should think they could fake up an opening title just by superimposing new photos over the 68 copy, of course you would need an off air tape to restore the spoken intro , by the way who spoke the intro? I heard it was the man who read out the football results

Not an awful lot, actually - he was recently at the Radio Caroline 40th Birthday celebrations, and of course there was the new edition of Dee Time he did for Channel 4 (anyone watching that would probably have wondered what the fuss was all about - the difference between his performance there and the 1968 edition was remarkable, if understandable!)
I think his wife is fairly wealthy, though, so I don't think he's too badly off financially!

Re Dee Time tx 3/5/69 - guests were Marty Feldman, Ben Gazzara, Sandie Shaw, and Rupert Lycett Green & Captain R.D. Lygo (interviewed about the Transatlantic Air Race).

why do you think dee time was so thouroughly erased? it seems to have fared extreemly badly for such a popular show, I can't beleive that there arn't some "borowed "copies extant in the wild.
