yes , I supose it also depends when in the 70s spyder's web was made 70-72 was ok but too early and its a bit 60s too late and its too 70s kipper ties flares etc( get carter was made at just the right time not too 60s not too 70s, it carter had flares it wouldn't be right) 60s is ok but if it was too 70s I would find it distracting
though it does sound like another take on department s it would be inetersting to see one of the colour eps

Definatly one of the best Masters. Up there with Roger Delgado. Certaintly puts John Simm to shame.

If I recall correctly, in story terms Peter Pratt & Geoffrey Beevors were both the 13th master, thus making Ainley the 14th (and therefore Tipple probably/possibly the 15th, Roberts the 16th, Jacobi probably the 17th and Simm the 18th?).
I always enjoyed him as the Master though.
Curious that this thread got bumped up though... not as if it's an anniversary or anything...

Curious that this thread got bumped up though... not as if it's an anniversary or anything... My fault I am afraid. I was just going through previous threads and this one caught my eye. I am a great fan of his Master and I didn't really remember his death. Which is going to be ten years this May.

It's nice to see we're keeping his memory alive, in a way. Nicer too to be able to say that none of his episodes are missing!

I loved his laugh though. His laugh was amazing. I remember when I was a little kid and was watching Trial of a Timelord on video, I was finding it a little bit boring until The Master appeared. When he appeared I gave it my full attention then. He had a great screen presence about him though. Every scene he was in he dominated it. I would have loved to have seen him the Paul McGann film though.
