Hi all, Im a big fan off all 1960s music, film etc anyway thought it's such a shame that so little exists of 1960s Top of the pops and being in my 20's wouldnt have seen all that fab music first time around, any way im sure you have all seen this clip on You tube so I apologise if you have all seen it, but was looking at jacque dutronc today and was happy to see the announcer to introduce him with Pans people dancing in the back ground, Fantastic, sorry if you have seen this before.

here & yes it is Pan's People pre Top Of The Pops! This is from '67 or very early '68 making it the earliest footage of them as far as i know www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY2xkRs6IysCan make out Ruth, Babs & Louise - they have said that the group started out dancing on a TV pop show in Belgium but never seen any footage till now. Any ideas what the show is called?

It's high time somebody did a "family tree" type of thing on these dance groups and list the exact personnel in each of:
Beat Girls (on "Beat Room" - some people in this were in PP) Go-Jos (first TOTP dance act, carried on existing after TOTP apparently?) Pan's People Ruby Flipper (short-lived TOTP boy/girl troupe) Legs and Co Zoo
and years, comings and goings, programmes etc etc etc.

There are articles on Wikipedia about Pan's, Ruby Flipper, Legs and Co. and Zoo about their TOTP careers and details of membership (complete in terms of Pan's, RF and Legs), if that helps.
It would be nice for a definitive list of Beat Girls, Go-Jo's, Zoo and TOTP cheerleaders from the 1980s (as much discussed on the old BBC TOTP2 forum) on the internet.

I'd doubt it was Kerplunk Snakes and ladders. With the emphasis on snakes!

They are listed quite well in the new Kaleidoscope book I'll have a look tonight, but I'm not sure they *are*, you know! Also, I gather Pan's People didn't start either as a 6-piece or as a TOTP dancing troupe.

Just found a short clip of them dancing to Chicago's "I'm A Man" from the 29/1/70 edition - interesting style of presentation with short cuts to photos of the group! www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkxCzwPNHp4Mark

It makes me laugh the way Louise is naked, but Babs and Flick seem to have chickened out and see to be wearing bras (Babs) or T-shirt (Flick).

Got tons of TOTP on DVD, and a Mate compiled 2 full DVDs of nothing but PANS PEOPLE, LEGS AND CO, RUBY FLIPPER etc. These Girls were fantastic. Watching some of the retro shows, they still look cool now, 30+ years on.
