hi mentioned this before but still can't shed any light on the matter. I'm holding a copy of an eddie cochran lp titled "On the air" originally issued in 1972. The bulk of the album consists of the soundtrack from "boy meets girl" tv show and has Marty Wilde interviewing eddie, gene vincent also duets with eddie on "white lightning". Album credits detail programme recorded in jan 1960 and transmitted feb 1960, it also acknowledges the assistance of Thames Television in making the record possible. Question is Thames must have been aware of the historical importance of the programme when they gave permission to use the soundtrack in 1972 so why does it no longer exist ? Did someone whilst preparing the album spirit the programme away? Anyone know? What of the fate of other "Boy meets girl" episodes??

In 1997 I obtained a CD entitled 'Eddie Cochran Rock 'n' Roll TV Show' which is probably the CD issue of the LP which you have 'robstar'. There are 11 tracks from 'Boy Meets Girl' with Marty Wilde introduction plus another 8 tracks and a couple of interviws from Hollywood. It would be amazing if any video of this show (and the lesser remembered follow-up 'Wham') was to turn up.

So what part did Thames play in the scheme of things? Did they have the master? If so, what subsequently became of it?

According to the CD sleeve notes it was Granada TV who presented the programme.

So did (do) Granada have it?

I assumed all Wham and Boy Meets Girl was wiped.
Wham was a ABC show. Not sure about Boy Meets Girl. Will look it up. It was definately filmed in manchester as I have a Radio Lux cd that states he was going to shoot two episodes in Manchester.
But was it the Granada studios or the ABC Didsbury ones.
Will go and research it!

'Boy Meets Girl' ran from September 1959 to March 1960. 'Wham' ran for 9 weeks during 1960. This is all the information I can find re actual dates for these 2 programmes.
