Pete You did not specify which TOP 40 you need. What I mean is, before the days of "Guinness Hit Singles" there were MANY charts. In June 63 there was "Record Retailers" TOP 50; "Melody Makers" TOP 50; N.M.E's TOP 30; "DISC'S" TOP 30; and POP WEEKl'ES TOP 30. Which do you want? Or do you believe in the Lie fed by Gambaccini, Rice & Reid that everyone has to go by the chart THEY order falsely that everyone has to accept. A.S.M Smith

i have the info now, thanks
but dont insult my intelligence
you obviously did not read that i needed 21/06/2003
the info was only 3 weeks ago and there is only one UK top 40 NOW, which is also NOW uses for NME / and music week
the info used in the guinness books is the most correct info
the stuff used by NME/MM/Sounds only used a sample of the sales, and really cannot be deemed as correct, anyway,
a wednesday to tuesday chart doesnt really reflet sales as records are all released on Mondays

Pete I made a mistake; OK it was a pretty daft one; for that I apologise. But do you need do be so vicious in your response? It's a wonder anyone will want to try helping you if you take that approach. As for `CHARTS` I have worked my subject; your criticisms here are as nothing. Apparently I'm not the only person you rail at in this way (DEREK. M) if you cant treat people with a bit more understanding the loss is all yours. A.S.M. Smith

I Have ALL album chart archives, but if i make any `mistakes` will i get a repeat performance from you pete? I; like many other people are only too pleased to help; IF you can be a little more tolerant of our failings. It's up to you pete - if you want chart info, a little courtesy surely isen't too much to ask. A.S.M(Chartman)

Hello Pete It's great to get back to you. So it's the Melody Maker top 10 from Nov 8 to 24 March 1960. THEN the "Record Retailer" top 40 from 24 March 1960 onward. Is that what you want pete? I'm not bieng awkward honest! just want to minimise mistakes. OH! pete did you know that the official Music Chart people are cataloguing the earlier "Record Mirror" L.P chart from 28 July 1956 to add it to their lists; hopefully to use in the next `Hit Albums` Edition. I know this BECAUSE Dave McCaleer, Keith Badman and self UNCOVERED this chart. Messrs Gambaccini, Rice, Rice & Reid never knew of its existance. I spoke with Jo Rice to confirm. Always a pleasure pete, Best Regards A.S.M
