What exists of this tv version of The Goons? I can remember it being on around teatime on Saturday in the early/mid sixties. I don't think it ran for very long.
Can anyone firm up these sketchy details?

Thanks - my hazy recollections were not so inaccurate, and I was only 5 or 6 at the time! I signed your petition, so I hope it's not out of date now......
O/T, I also remember the TV Comic referred to in your site. If it's the one I think it is, it used to have some strips in it based on programmes which were certainly not shown in my region; one called Beetle Bailey springs to mind.

I remember TV Comic well too. There were a few strips that were not TV spin-offs though (but were TV-orientated) like Mighty Moth (I THINK that was the title).
Beetle Bailey though was a long-running U.S. animated cartoon (kind of like a cartoon Bilko) and there was an American newspaper strip and comic book of it for many years which was sporadically distributed over here. The cartoon was made by King Features, who also did Popeye. Unlike Popeye however, I think i'm right in saying though that - unlike Popeye - Beetle Bailey was never shown much (at all?) over here. I used to buy the comic book and want to see the cartoon but - for London area viewers anyway - it never happened. The newspaper strip was still running last I heard.
