Old news but still good news about the Avengers. Telesnaps from 14 of the missing first season Avengers episodes (also from existing 2nd season episodes) turned up in producers Leonard White’s scrapbooks of his time producing the first and part of the second season. Of the 26 first season Avengers episodes, only two exist completely, and the first act from a third. Sadly, one of the existing episodes does not have John Steed, who was not the shows main character, and would not be until season two. More we’re not taken because “ The reason the photographs start up with One for the Mortuary rather than at an earlier point in the series is because White had only at this point become aware of Cura's service. However, due to the ATV London region (where Cura was based) picking up The Avengers some ten weeks after Hot Snow aired in the Midlands and North of the United Kingdom (missing out ten episodes), there were only three additional episodes that could possibly have been tele-snapped: Hot Snow,Brought to Book and Dance with Death plus of course White's earlier series, Police Surgeon. Cura continued making photographic Tele-Snaps of The Avengers for Leonard White until the latter left the producership, fourteen episodes into the production of Series 2.” Full description and Reconstruction List www.declassified.hiddentigerbooks.co.uk/keel_reconstructions.htmProducer Leonard White allowed the telesnaps and other material to be used in the book that accompanies the Avengers DVD of the existing first season episodes and season two.

Interesting! However, there are three complete S1 episodes: "Girl on the Trapeze" (which does not feature Steed), "The Frighteners" and "Tunnel of Fear" (the most recently found).

Truth. This article predates 2016 when a film collector revealed they had a pristine 16mm copy of “Tunnel of Fear”. Hopefully there will be more. Philip Morris has said he knows of 6 missing Doctor Who episodes in the hands of private collectors. Morris hasn’t specified if this 6 he knows of includes the stolen third episode from Web of Fear.

You can bet it does. I think you're correct as Phil appears convinced that WOF3 is in private hands. Whether in reality he's in a position to "know" this is another matter of course.

Phil Morris found all six parts of Web of Fear. But after months of negotiations, episode 3 was missing. WOF3 possibly was the most valuable of the episodes, as it was the first time we met the Brigadier (other than an earlier non-speaking back to the camera scene played by another actor). www.doctorwhonews.net/2015/09/whatever-happened-to-web-of-fear-3.html
