Interestingly a bunch of transcription discs of Lines From My Grandfather's Forehead turned up from British Guiana [edit]. From the notations on the cue sheets they'd only been played a max of 3 times. I wonder what the locals thought of Ronnie Barker making fun of the foibles of the Brits. [Edit - the dscs are unplayable with clicks and pops and groove skips].

Interestingly a bunch of transcription discs of Lines From My Grandfather's Forehead turned up from Sierra Leone. From the notations on the cue sheets they'd only been played a max of 3 times. I wonder what the locals thought of Ronnie Barker making fun of the foibles of the Brits With all those African screenings, I always assumed that they were for a white audience of, let's say, "expats"... Not sure if (m)any others could afford a TV set or even had electricity.

Any more news on the restoration of the vinegar morecambe and wise?

Re: LFMGF - the only t'disc worth converting was no. 10 for the 'lost' S02E04 - a truncated version of the original with 2 or 3 items missing. T'discs as you likely know had to be truncated down to 25 mins for overseas sales due to the need for commercial stations to add in advertisements. The digitising has been done to WAV format, however there were at least 2 groove skips, so these need to be digitally removed and replaced by clips from other older recordings (albeit at lower bit rates).
