According to BroaDWcast a Japanese TV station picked up NTSC copies of Silurians, Ambassadors, and Autons. Were these tapes wiped? Is there anymore information about these tapes?

I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Japan have a listory of not looking after their own stuff too well. It further doesn't help that the broadcaster which aired it, Japan Cable Television, appears to have been a very minor service during that time- I suspect that the tapes it received of programs from outside Japan were shipped back to whoever they obtained them from after airing.

The only listings found for "DR WHO" in Japan were those on the cable platform that piped TV into hotels in Tokyo in the late 1970s. It's possible there were also broadcasts elsewhere, but listings for those haven't been located.

It's possible there were also broadcasts elsewhere, but listings for those haven't been located. Perhaps that's something to investigate? I heard that people have pondered over microfilm newspaper clippings to gather the original broadcast schedules of episodes in other countries.

The Pertwees aired from early 1978. We know of the JCT stuff, but there may have been broadcasts around other regions and islands. I was only able to find the JCT and later 1990s NHK listings because they were in Japanese / English newspapers. There might be further listings but in Japanese newspapers.
