Sounds interesting.
I can remember finding a photo gallery somebody had done of Princess Diana's fatal accident, using stills from all the footage they had videotaped.
I don't think they managed to cover too many channels, but were up most of the night flicking through the main British ones & capturing any important announcements.

The BFI should have been recording all channels at that time so could do a similar thing. Providing this footage has not been "lost". One of the things Marion Stokes was concerned with was media manipulation. It is good to have some independence rather than have all your eggs in one basket.

Apologises for reopening an old thread but Reddit has a trending article about the archive. I was concerned that the archive seems to have stalled. Someone asked how long it would take to digitise 70,000 hours of betamax and whether there would be technical shortcuts to do this. 100 betamax machines running (If you can obtain them) and dozens of capture capture cards.
