Hi Everyone,
Looking for some advice on the best way to transfer analog formats to digital. The main bulk of the transfers are S-VHS. Over 1000 hours of RED TV (Cambridge local tv which ended in 2002 and rushes for several TV projects I did in the mid nineties)
Previously I have been using Honestec Vidbox for Mac, however, I need to get a much better picture quality transfer - ideally a direct output to 1080P.
I have done some research and I am currently looking at BLACK MAGIC TERANEX MINI - ANALOG to STI system. This using component inputs and outputs via. STI able to USB for mac.
Is this a good option for best quality transfer? or can any other system be recommended? Has anyone used the Teranex system before?
An important question is - do I need a TBC to add to the kit? Or do any S-VHS machines have a TBC built in? I will be looking also to get a new S-VHS machine that offers the best image and audio output quality - any reccomendations on make and model?
I am using a mac with 16gb of memory - will this be enough memory to run Teranex?
Thanks in Advance! Richard
