Apologies if this has been covered before but is it true that the BBC have made a number of censor cuts due to either dialogue deemed offensive or music rights? I thought this was a complete set. Just read about this on a Facebook group with several comments suggesting the BBC have deemed it an un pc show

It's a pity people only seem interested to discuss (or rant about) the wrongs or rights of its perceived incorrectness now. That includes unreliable newspapers who have their own axes to grind. Allegedly it was once scheduled with cuts for a repeat that didn't happen due to some external event or something, that is I think where the story about the cuts comes from.

Luckily we don't all read the Daily Lumphead.

Thanks for the reply, the discussion on FB started out with a complaint about a scene edited out on the Some Motphers do ave em DVD , the House Move episode where Frank lands in the tar and comes out black and is watched by the Indian couple. The thread then went on with others saying the Aint Half Hot Mum dvd box set was also edited for the same reasons, hence why I raised the question Glad its not been trimmed.

Yeah just to nuance myself, I'm not saying it never happens. The world isn't perfect, and some stuff gets cut, sometimes for silly reasons. But IAHHM seems to be intact, because the punka walla is kicked now and then (and that was one of the alleged bones of contention, I understand). The two VHS-sourced episodes of series 1 have cuts, but that's because the only known copy comes from a commercial channel that shortened them for time. (It's a weird story, because it would almost seem like they were still selling the episodes at a time when they had already been reported lost.)

And just today the news was that Windsor Davies has died a few days ago, at age 88.
