Hi. The Christmas edition of ORCA's Tune into Yesterday magazine is now available. Main article is by Steve Poppitt about the lost and found episodes of The Clitheroe Kid. The Supplement looks back to the early days of the BBC in the 1920s & 30s, plus the recording of radio news programmes during the war years. A free sample is available in the UK from John Wolstenholme, our membership sec: ORCA, PO Box 1922, Dronfield, S18 8XA Annual membership is £15 ( cheques payable to 'ORCA' ) which brings you 4 issues of Tune into Yesterday, plus access to our vast lending library of old programmes on CD & audio DVD.

Hi Graeme,
Has there been any progress on taking payment electronically? I would certainly subscribe to ORCA but like an ever-increasing number of people, do not - and would not - have a cheque book.
Thanks

If I recall correctly, 'ORCA' are happy to accept a UK postal order instead of a cheque. But being only a club, not a business, I don't think they can afford the costs of accepting credit card payments.
If your bank won't issue you with a chequebook, you can nevertheless still make annual payments for membership subscriptions to clubs and societies, etc, from a UK bank account, by setting up a Standing Order. I make some regular payments by annual standing order, and some by a monthly standing order. Where the amount payable varies only rarely, this remains a very convenient payment method.

Thanks, Ed. Most helpful. I'd be more than happy to set up a standing order.
Graeme, can this be arranged, or failing that, will you take a postal order?

Hi Ant. Yes, send a postal order to our membership sec John Wolstenholme at ORCA, P.O. Box 1922, Dronfield, S18 8XA. Ask him to start your membership rolling with the current issue. Xmas might delay things slightly.
