Hello Everybody,
Here is something to have a think about.
With David Bradley having been selected, over time, to recreated Hartnell's Doctor, Who would you cast to recreate Pat's lost episodes/scenes?

Although he is the wrong height, I would choose the excellent and similarly craggy faced Stephen McGann from Call the midwife, and from the same show I would choose George Rainsford and Helen George as Ben and Polly. In a similar vein, Ruth Wilson would be a great recreation of Romana I and Amanda Mealing from Casualty would make a good looking version of Sarah Jane.

I've never really understood why they don't just use Deepfake to match the faces exactly. It's the perfect tech for this.
You could also green screen many of the scenes.
With today's tech you could remake a B&W episode matched to the original soundtrack very cheaply. I'm surprised it's not been a student project.

Absolurely anyone other than Reece Shearsmith?
Not sure I've put a lot of thought in it past that.

There are enough empty scene frames in orphan episodes showing the general backgrounds and there are enough similar poses in other episodes, plus Deepfake to supply the characters. I’m not sure if Deepfake only works face on to camera though?

Of course Tlotoxl himself , actor John Ringham, had a reasonable likeness to the mighty Trought. Nowadays, apart from Reece Shearsmith, I’m stumped.

Give it time... bound to happen as technology becomes cheaper and the right person comes along.

Because the technology still is nowhere near affordable unless you are looking at Disney levels of money. Auntie Beeb couldn't afford it for a regular episode, never mind what would ultimately be a small project for dedicated fans.

Never understand why anyone thinks Reece Sheersmith is a lock for this one. Unlike Bradley, he didn’t have any lines and was pretty much just used as a non speaking extra in 2nd Dr cosplay in his one appearance as ‘Troughton’. We have no evidence he could play Patrick Troughton well, let alone the Second Doctor.

Seriously Richard we could borrow a quantum mirror from Stargate as an added plot line, do a subtle bit of rewriting & we could both star. Alternatively we could flip a coin & one of us could play Salamander in the Return of the Enemy of the World, all we need to do is work out how to prevent Salamander from dying when ejected from the Tardis........

Doesn’t Salamander reappear in one of the novels? Oh, the 90s, when all we had by way of new Who was the virgin novels ... Actually, just googled it and I think it was just a comic strip called Heralds of Destruction richard
