Any idea which episodes? Some interesting musical guests appeared on the show that year, including The Moody Blues, The Tremeloes, Eric Burdon and The Animals and The Dave Clark Five.

The article says one features a cameo from a young Michael Aspel.

Guys, where have you been?
These have already been featured on 'The One Show', but the fabulous news is that the BBC will re-screen these at Christmas in fully restored colour. They are episodes 5 & 7 of series one.
The recovery and screening of these episodes has been made possible by the tenacity of Philip Morris of TIEA. Episode 5 will be screened at Missing Believed Wiped on December 15th.

Wait, so they're getting chroma dot colour recovery? Ahw, why does this (@$#&) get to get its colour back and not The Goodies or several other comedies? (They're the one act that I just can't stand.)

To clarify, I don't have a problem with Morecambe and Wise (I've always liked them a lot), I'm just disappointed that the rediscovered episodes don't have more exciting musical guests.

Whereas Ronnie Carroll always said wonderful things about you ...

"The programmes were feared to be lost after being wiped by the corporation under an archiving policy under which thousands of shows were erased." as the Times puts it.
