Oh brilliant news! I've only seen ropey and/or edited editions on Youtube. I hope the musical guest spots will be intact. Network are usually very good at including them where possible.

Ah - dear Lambchop ( & Shari ). May well eventually get this, mainly for them.
Although, as far as I'm aware, there isn't much of their 70s U.K. stuff available (I think they were on the BBC for awhile at lunchtimes back then), sometime ago I did get a DVD of about 4 b & w USA episodes with a Christmas theme, broadcast in the 60's - which are really ace ( & worth mentioning now as we are getting sort of nearer to that season ). If you don't happen to be aware of it, it's called 'A Shari Lewis Christmas'. Curiously in some of the episodes the small cast includes Ronald Radd! (the 1st actor to be 'Hunter' in Callan and the best performance in that role imo).
But, if you haven't come across it; beware the 70s (or it might be 80s) USA show set in a pretend TV studio ie the BBS ( stands for the Bearly Broadcasting Studio, run by... a bear, called - if I remember right - Mr Bearly ). I got one of the DVDs of those & it wasn't very good (though possibly kids might enjoy).
There's a good clip on Youtube from Canada in colour from 76 called 'Christmas With Shari Lewis' (about 6 minutes) - though it also includes a group doing a Bay City Rollers cover! (not my thing - though sort of interesting for it's level of kitsch).
No doubt there are other good clips.

If your a fan of Shari Lewis, and Lamb Chop you may not know she did loads of seasons for LWT....not sure whatever happened to it, never been seen or heard of since...Always a possibility it was exported to the US I suppose?

Didn't Basil Brush start out as a short in the David Nixon BBC show in the 60's or was it something else?

Series 1 30.03.1970 With David Nixon, Anita Harris, Joe Brown, Robert Harbin (missing). Interesting! Although that programme appears to be lost, the same guests feature on a surviving Easter 1971 edition, which should be included on the dvd set (hopefully with Anita's musical spots intact)

I can see that Norman Barrett’s Performing Budgerigars (seriously!) Rolf Harris,Les Dawson and others were also brought back for second appearances. I know that Anita Harris was a singer, but did she sing on the Nixons? (She acted as assistant with many of the magic stunts).

Nixon: "Basil, I have a letter here from a young lady who wants to know, 'How do you work?'" Brush: "I don't! I've not done a day's work in my life!"
