Now, the animation, which is to be shown on the MBW event in December, seems to be confirmed as a 10 minutes Wheel in Space 1 animation for an future DVD. WiS was the other story besides MT rumored to get a DVD release. Now, there are a few possibilities, assuming that both DVD releases are coming: -both being animated -MT being animated, while WiS will be a reconstruction (as it's been rumored) and the 10min animation is just a bonus. -both being just reconstructions and of course -the unlikely possibility, that MT or WiS have seen (partly or for MT maybe even complete) recoveries. (Though of course being the outturn most wished for, I very much doubt that) As far as I understood, the 10min animation is a stand alone for the MBW event and not a teaser for a larger animation and as I doubt any recoveries I guess MT will be animated for DVD and WiS will see a recon-DVD with the animation as bonus, though without any further information on MT, it coukd also be a recon. PV commented on twitter about the Amazon listing for MT, saying: "It hasn't been found, if that's what you mean. It's one of the least likely ones to be found." When asked if the listing is wrong, he replied: "I don't know. I have no idea what it is.". Fair points. I would say, though, that Macra Terror being a reconstruction on DVD seems particularly unlikely. While that might indeed end up the case for 4/6 Wheel episodes, I don't think they will try to pull off only four episodes of telesnaps as a main feature.

Seems like that rumour in the 'Daily Mirror' a few months ago is looking true. In that 'The Macra Terror' and 'The Wheel in Space' have been animated.

Or they simply managed to get a glance at the DVD schedule and saw them both on there. If Wheel is indeed just getting 10 minutes of animation, and for the BFI, who knows how recently it was commissioned. It might not have been, back in July.

heck as long as something is animated and released on DVD I will be happy. Sounds like The Wheel in Space bit being released might have been the teaser that was submitted to get the contract to animate it. Time will tell, we will just have to wait

I can't help but wonder if it's all just the BBC PR people wanting strict control over the merchandising and branding of the show for the meantime, given the large (and thankfully successful) gamble they've just taken. I'm sure post-series 11, hopefully this year but probably in the new year, we'll start to get more information on these releases - especially if that other rumour is true that Series 12 will be delayed till late 2019/2020. Roadshow Australia has (accidentally?) confirmed a Wheel DVD is planned for Australia next year, as well as letting slip before the official announcement of a Season 10 BluRay box set for 2019. So obviously there's lots being planned behind the scenes. The secrecy is odd, and frustrating, but I remain optimistic there are such thing as Macra.

The story was that ALL eight episodes had been animated already, that's not true.

I just don't understand what the BFI has to gain by commissioning a 10 minute clip of The Wheel in Space if its not coming out on DVD as an animation. All I can think of is it was a way to sell tickets to people thinking there going to get to see a full animated episode and not a 10 minute clip. Sorry IM really disappointed in the BFI if this is indeed the case. hopefully I am wrong though, time will tell
