So a thread about dreams of missing episodes somehow isn't related to missing episodes? By that logic, do conversations have nothing to do with language? I'm interested to know what other people have to say on this despite your protestations.
As you're asking for honest opinions ... this thread is not too atypical of many we've seen in recent years. Not my idea of fun and I think this forum would be better without them. But then I'm not as obsessive about Who as a great many others, and if this is how people enjoy spending their time ... The FMs obviously see no issue with such threads. But then only a week ago, someone launched an offensive slur on Phil Morris, the man who has done so much for the recovery of missing episodes, and the FMs didn't have an issue with that either. People always have a choice whether or not they join in with a thread. Just because some don't like it doesn't mean that's the same for everyone else. There are those on here who have participated in and advanced some of the most ludicrous of issues on this forum, but I am not one of them. This is a topic that some would find interesting to discuss. I'm hardly obsessed, and if you look through the threads and posts I've personally made, they are focused and limited in number.
There's no issue with a thread like this. The conduct of others is none of my business, and a thread such as this is hardly likely to give rise to personal slurs or accusations. Have you contacted the moderators and questioned why things like that haven't been flagged or removed?

As I said, if participation in such threads is how members enjoy themselves and if the FMs don’t have an issue, then neither do I. As for the offensive slur on Phil to which I alluded, yes I did report it to the mods.

Let's be honest, several (maybe even most) other threads were essentially complete dreams and fantasies too! "I dreamed a dream" - perhaps Susan Boyle is still available?
I dreamed a dream of Kublai Khan, Of Counter Plot and Feast of Steven, I dreamed the Dalek Masterpla-a-an, I dreamed the Macra Terror even!
But the wipers come at night, With their tape reuse and junkings, As they wiped those tapes apart, As they tear the films to shre-he-heds!
I had a dream Airlock would be So different from this tape we're seeing, So different now from what it seemed, Now Phil has killed the dream I dreamed! (Yes I know Morris didn't find Airlock... But nothing else seemed to fit.)

I have to admit that this thread is a little bit specialised, even for me...

You gotta have a dream if you don't have a dream How you gonna have a dream come true ...
(Just getting into the spirit of the thread.)

I think it was Carl Jung who had the theory that when an individual dreams, whilst asleep he or she is dipping into the collective consciousness of the rest of humanity.Certainly there is evidence that dreams can be precognitive-the orientation of carbon atoms in a benzene ring was dreamt by the scientist involved as a snake eating itself which subsequently turned out to be correct.I've had pre-cognitive dreams myself which have come and believe me they seem to be a perfectly natural thing to have.Perhaps dreaming of The of Evil Of The Daleks or other missing episodes is evidence of their existence somewhere?
I'll get me coat.

If anything, it's more likely Wheel #4 and Kitten Kong '71 as per the newer dream rather than Evil #7.

Oh man, I've had a couple.
First time was Daleks Masterplan, episode 3. (Pretty random in and of itself.) It came in the form of a VHS tape and looked more like a video game. Pretty sure there were a couple of monsters from DOOM in an elaborate maze. Absolutely nothing like DMP E3. LOL.
Second was much closer. Episodes 2 and 4 of The Crusades with beautiful greenery, but the contents of said dream are sketchy to me at best now. Honestly, I was going to make a thread like this at one point but totally forgot.
Thanks for the laughs!

Addendum: Honestly, if I had the wherewithal (i.e., money and time), I would poll every Doctor Who fan alive who saw the original versions of the missing episodes and try to reach a consensus on what happened between each telesnap. Then I would have people walk through them as if they were performing the episodes, and do what was done for "The Power of the Daleks" myself for everything left. That is how much trust I have in those dreams and memories when people are prompted with the recons. I've wondered (dreamt) that you might be able to tap directly into people's memories via some sort of neurological invention and then reconstruct the episodes that way. Richard P.S. Which I would like to say is a genuine attempt at recovering missing episodes, in case I need to justify the post :-)

I normally dream in colour, so I know when I'm watching black and white television, but it's usually weirdly skewed. Blue Peter turns into Tetris, that sort of thing. I have dreamt about The Space Pirates, but I saw it twice so that's not surprising.

In the late 1980's (or possibly early 90's) I dreamt that I went into a store and there was VHS video tapes of both Tomb of the Cybermen and Power of the Daleks in full colour and I was absolutely shocked and amazed at both the recovery and the fact they were now in colour. As if they'd really been shot in colour and only seen in black and white.
Soon after this dream (or few years later) in real life Tomb of the Cybermen was recovered and released - something I'd never have expected.
My dream may of been inspired by there being many colour publicity shots taken for these serials.
***********
I also recall reading in the letters page of DWM that a guy had a dream that The Crusades was recovered and there was technicolour footage of Julian Glover in a forest and that the whole serial was colour.
