Does anyone know if it is the same studio that did the work on Shada and Power of the Daleks? I'm wondering whether my assumption that it was a showreel for the animation studio that got them PotD and Shada is a red herring or not...

Given that Rob Richie indicated on Twitter that he was still working on the animation when the BFI made the press release, it's evidently not material from a showreel.

Oh, that is interesting. Totally wasn't expecting that! Thank you, Richard.

The Daily Mirror wrong? Who'd have ever guessed? The guy doing the animation popped up on one of the boards and was adamant that Wheel was just 10 minutes of work, and not part of an imminent release. There was that rumour posted back in July elsewhere that Macra was next, followed by Fury, along with box Blu-Ray sets for Season 10, 18, 19, and 26. Based soley on past-performance, that's probably the best bet - if only someone was taking bets.

He also said that the 10 minute feature would be a released as an extra on an upcoming DVD. Might as well pop it on The Macra Terror release. . . .

As Wheel in Space follows directly after Fury from the Deep, it would fit better there. Interestingly a July rumour was of Macra Terror followed by Fury from the Deep. But if there's nothing to the Fury rumour (and I don't know that there is, other than everything else in that rumour seems to be unfolding), then yes, Macra would make sense.

If there was even a rumor of a Fury from the Deep release that would be the perfect spot for it but as I have not herd any rumors about a Fury from the Deep release then The Macra Terror is the perfect place for it. Otherwise what is the point of including it on a DVD release. After all the DVD range is dead apart from new animation's as Blue Ray releases are the future for previously released Classic Who

Standard Def. material is fine for DVD in my opinion, although the "NTSC" market will see a considerable advantage in Blu-ray with 625 up-conversions instead of 525 that most are used to etc.... Although you and I know the advantages of native PAL already. Let's hope someday we will get to debate that question, Bob.

Which Classic Who never got a DVD release, perhaps I am missing something here, unless its a special edition that did not get a re release like Enemy of the World SE ?

I was meaning the missing episodes that never had a DVD release. If any get found, it would still be a viable medium of release in my opinion.

Well if the animations are getting a DVD release as well as a Blue Ray I am sure any recovered episode's would get the same treatment

Went to MBW yesterday. In the Q&A they said the "Wheel In Space" mini-episode was a side-project arising from the "Macra Terror" animation, and would most likely be included as an extra on the "Macra Terror" DVD or blu-ray release. It looked stunning: so I'm guessing the "Macra Terror" will be pretty special too.
