Seems rather unlikely, but there could be other material in there from other BBC shows.

If someone got in contact with them, would it be possible to get them to inspect their archives for any missing BBC material?

Where does it mention the "thousands of BBC programmes" on their site? The only thing I could see was the Top of the Pops radio series from the mid-sixties.

Where does it mention the "thousands of BBC programmes" on their site? The only thing I could see was the Top of the Pops radio series from the mid-sixties. The 'thousands' of shows seems to be a reference mainly, so far as the BBC are concerned, to radio shows - www.filmsaroundtheworld.com/Hartwest_Radio.htmlBut the radio recordings in question mostly appear to comprise pop music shows. The only BBC scripted series referred to, and it's the ONLY series, is “Around The Horne” -- a none too accurate reference to “Round The Horne”. But when I listened even to that, it turned out to only be a 2-minute trailer (by the original cast) for a forthcoming 'Round the Horne' series, not the first couple of minutes of an actual episode. And the sound quality was lousy. The website brags a lot. In my opinion it comes across as some windbag blowing his own trumpet, and does not give the impression that it is anything more than smoke-and-mirrors. Even for those of us interested in 'lost' radio, I seriously doubt there is any BBC material of interest there. Some music radio material undoubtedly, but no scripted comedy or drama shows. And they don't even claim to have any BBC television material.

My guess is the only piece of Who-related material you might find in their archive is a copy of the pilot for the 1960s radio series starring Peter Cushing. But even that would be the longest of long shots...

Even for those of us interested in 'lost' radio, I seriously doubt there is any BBC material of interest there. Some music radio material undoubtedly, but no scripted comedy or drama shows. For that matter, even the claims about their holdings with American broadcasting have limitations- the Joe Pyne materials are of legitimate interest (as that's a type of programming that wasn't well preserved in the United States), but much of the rest of it is materials that have been known about for a while (they were trying to arrange sales of a considerable hunk of it on another site a decade or so ago) and for which there are other copies (the Paley Center has duplicates of quite a bit of that material, for instance). Given all that, a degree of caution must be taken with much of what they do claim, and it would not be wise to assume that they have vast treasures not mentioned.
