I order the region-free DOCTOR WHO SHADA BLUE-RAY but it did not work on my player. I was wondering if anyone else in the U.S. had the same problem?

Yeah there seemed to be some issues with Region 1 players for a lot of people.

Apparently it's a problem with Sony Blu-Ray players. It will not play on my Sony Blu-Ray player (or PS3) but will play on my LG player. I've had this problem with a couple of other Region Free Blu-Rays ordered from the UK. (I live in Canada.) Hope that helps.

That explains why it doesn't work on my Sony Blu-ray player. But I did notice that it's available for download on ITUNES and AMAZON. So I will just get the digital copy instead.

Sony doesn't do 50hz, The Shada Blu-rays are all 50hz, the US and Canada never received them so no 60hz discs exist as BBC America never issued them. Despite the UK discs being Region Free, they're still PAL only.

Most likely why we do not have the problem, the others have reported.

Very true Ralph but my SONY is a US Sony Multi system, that may or may not have some reason why it works in my 2011 Sony. I have not updated the firmware on it at all and I have never had a problem with a US, UK Australian or New Zealand BD disc. It also works in my 2009 Panasonic BD player which I have updated the firmware on quite regularly and it also plays all my BD discs with out any problems what so ever.

Joemendoza23, The PS4 is capable of playing 50hz discs, the PS3 was not. This should be what you encounter so yes, the menu cannot be navigated because it cannot process 50hz.
