That's just it, he did say what he had, its just that a few in the higher echelons of fandom could not keep their gobs shut. Another problem with Phil Morris is that he claimed to have all this stuff but never backed it up with any hard evidence, baring the 9 he returned in 2013. I don't think he EVER said he had ANY further recovered Dr Who episodes other than the 9 from 2013.Anything that could be implied or gleaned from his statements was purely wishful thinking by over-eager fans.Philip never said he had anything more.Paul Vanezis is implying much more. If Paul's implying much more then I'm throwing a 24hr party this weekend! Good times ahead...

Actually it was caused by some very well connected fans who could not keep their mouths shut about what Morris was purported to have. Exactly! If he'd have said what he had there'd have been no need for the rumour. The original reports - which were a bit stalkery because someone somehow got a look at the shipping manifest - said he'd transported several tons of films. Even if there was no more Dr Who among them it'd still be interesting to see a list, but he's held his cards close to his chest so we know almost nothing (Web, Enemy, a Basil Brush, a Sky At Night, a rotting Morecambe & Wise, that's a very short list). Going back to the Pandorica convention, I thought Web of Fear 3 being pilfered came about through PM saying what he had to a trusted member of his team? Thereafter, he realized that saying less was a good thing, unless one wants to save money on having less tonnage to haul back to the UK.

"Ambassadors of Death part 2, I think....nothing that was missing."

It would be interesting to know where Part 2 was found, just for the fun of tracing the history of the film print

Not sure it was member of his team, more to do with him telling somebody he knows in the higher echelons of fandom. Does her have a team? Phil is pretty much a 1 man band.

Well yes, he should have kept quiet about it until it was back in the UK. Saying you have something before you actually *have* it isn't a good idea.

Indeed why would Phil intentionally hoard any episode's he found, all that would do would destroy his reputation

Aren't we supposed to be getting an announcement later this year regarding non-Who material he's recovered? I can absolutely understand the secrecy regarding the Who material if his connections can't be trusted but he will eventually return the material, even though it will be many years away.
