I'm just glad that the professional episode hunters keep their cards close to their chest and say nothing until an offical annoucement. The right way to do it. But the omnirumour was caused by Philip Morris keeping his cards close to his chest. Actually it was caused by some very well connected fans who could not keep their mouths shut about what Morris was purported to have.

I know one fan who has personally had communication and visited a TV station in the past and has recovered episodes.
Of course this was a long time ago in another century

The Omini rumor got way out of hand and as a result may have damaged chances at future recovery's. Fans calling TV stations around the world may have simply given the employees at these TV stations that they have something valuable tat could be sold for profit. Especially if they are in a third world country. Nonsense!. Rubbish rumours don't jepordize recoveries. The only way the Omini Rumour could jepordize anything if there is some truth to it. Is there any evidence fans called TV stations. The only thing the Omini has damaged is friendships on forums. The nothing has been found brigade vs the source kings, what a mess. Its reminds me of all this brexit fiasco of Remainers v Leavers with each side insisting they are correct. Are friendships on forums real friendships?
Are friendships on forums real friendships?
A good question actually I have many on line friends that I met threw forums going back to 1998 that I still stay in touch with. Granted we are all over the world and have different lives, occupations and politics but one thing we all agree on is our love for Dr. Who. Now my current wife I introduced to Dr. Who and she loves it

But the omnirumour was caused by Philip Morris keeping his cards close to his chest. Actually it was caused by some very well connected fans who could not keep their mouths shut about what Morris was purported to have. Exactly! If he'd have said what he had there'd have been no need for the rumour. The original reports - which were a bit stalkery because someone somehow got a look at the shipping manifest - said he'd transported several tons of films. Even if there was no more Dr Who among them it'd still be interesting to see a list, but he's held his cards close to his chest so we know almost nothing (Web, Enemy, a Basil Brush, a Sky At Night, a rotting Morecambe & Wise, that's a very short list).

He's also dealing with local materials as well, not just stuff to go back to the UK. Preserving their archives is just as important as restoring our own. A lot of this stuff will be brought in, restored, transferred and sent right back in a modern format.

However there are some people i now refuse to have anything to do with because of the Omini Rumour. Some of it got really personal at times. Missing episode rumours pop up all the time, but i have never experienced such nastiness as occurred with the Omini.

That's just it, he did say what he had, its just that a few in the higher echelons of fandom could not keep their gobs shut. Another problem with Phil Morris is that he claimed to have all this stuff but never backed it up with any hard evidence, baring the 9 he returned in 2013.

I don't think he EVER said he had ANY further recovered Dr Who episodes other than the 9 from 2013.Anything that could be implied or gleaned from his statements was purely wishful thinking by over-eager fans.Philip never said he had anything more.Paul Vanezis is implying much more.
