A couple of nights ago, the news programme Newsnight ran a report on the recent Kaleidoscope finds, showing footage of the recovered Avengers episode Tunnel of Fear as well as showing the POTD animation as an example of how missing episodes can be recreated in place of lost film.Directly afterwards, one of the Kaleidoscope representatives stated that he had a couple of leads from 'a third party'but couldn't mention what TV episodes it concerned. Is he talking about DR WHO especially as he mentions the leads directly after the POTD animated foootage or are we just reading into this? I'd like to know what other members think-is he talking about Dr Who by implication or some other high profile missing footage, such as the appearance of all 4 Beatles on Juke Box Jury?

Just a couple of points, Jaspel.
Tim Beddows isn't a Kaleidoscope representative. He is (as his caption stated) the managing director of commercial company Network DVD.
He doesn't really mention the "third party" leads directly after the POTD clip. The report has clearly moved on by that point as the reporter is now talking about the intrigue and characters behind the missing episodes. There's absolutely no reason to conclude that Tim can only be talking about Doctor Who episodes at this point. It also doesnt have to be anything high-profile either. Tim just says that they're episodes missing from the BBC archive. They could be anything.

That's what I was thinking as well Richard. There's no evidence to think he's talking about Dr Who-he could be talking about anything. And we all know that leads can go nowhere and that the 'third party' could be simply a hoaxer. We've heard this all before and aven after all these years of publicity and WOF 3 can still be stolen by unscrupulous individuals,we're still being subjected to the same old intrigues. My hopes really aren't very high.

There is no logic to suggest he is talking about Dr. Who. He simply stated there are some kind of leads to more missing material from the BBC archives out there. Who knows maybe its an Adam Adamant Lives or a Doomwatch, all we can do is wait and wait and wait and of course hope

There are so many old BBC TV Shows that have missing episodes like Doctor Who, The Avengers, Dad's Army etc. so its hard to say if he meant Doctor Who

There are so many old BBC TV Shows that have missing episodes like Doctor Who, The Avengers, Dad's Army etc. so its hard to say if he meant Doctor Who The Avengers isn't from BBC. It was made by ITV. Get your facts straight, and that applies to all of us. We should try to make educated, informed posts. If you feel uncertain about something, don't feel afraid to ask. I know I went off topic, its just I've been seeing a lot more slip ups recently.

Well I wouldn't hold your breath, he could have been talking about a many number of shows, or just messing with everyone, who knows. This means nothing unless at some point we get an official announcement. Before that day it means nothing to me as there's no evidence he's even referring to Doctor Who.

I doubt the managing director of Network DVD would be 'messing' with us, as director of a commercial DVD company specialising in archive TV he's probably talking to someone regarding a potential future release subject to clearences etc. Could be anything but most likely coming from the ITV franchises as that tends to be their main pool of TV related releases. Talking of Kaleidoscope, they have a free event scheduled for November 12th in Birmingham, apparently they are going to make public a number of finds each day leading up to the event! Not checked today, but suspect they may also be keeping some kind of announcement back for Saturday! I'll be there so you never know, we can hope!

Just cause he works for Network it does not mean that he would only help with ITV material being returned.

Did we ever get an answer on these leads for BBC material in this interview from Nov'16? From 06:10 onwards m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGxRBOjfZCc(Official BBC source) This interview was after Till Death Us Do Part missing BBC episodes and The Adventures of Rupert the Bear was ATV not BBC.
